"LIVE" from the Navigator of the Seas - November 9, 2014

Good morning and welcome to Day 4...

Random thoughts and observations from Day 3

- I miss the different color carpeting that differentiates the port and starboard sides of the ship. The refurb carpeting is blue on both sides, so I still haven't figured out what side of the ship our cabin is on.

- I tried the in room coffee pot for my first cup of coffee yesterday morning, prior to heading to the smoking lounge on Deck 4. This turned out to be a bad idea, as the filter was not aligned properly, which resulted in 3/4 of the cup being spewed sideways all over the vanity table, filling half the drawers in the vanity with coffee. I will stick with the Cafe Promenade coffee for the remainder of the trip.

- the in room refrigerator is actually COLD!

- there are many people from Texas and surrounding states on this ship. I find myself greeted with warm smiles and friendly "hellos" at every corner. This is making for a very enjoyable cruise experience.

- there is a new twist to the 3 card poker game in the casino. There is now a betting option next to the pair plus, that allows you to use the dealers three cards with your three cards to make the best 5 card hand.

- PHOTO DISCLAIMER.... Thus far I have been taking the majority of my photos with my iphone 6, because it it easy to carry around. I've also taken many photos with my Sony Nex, however when I tried to upload to photobucket, it was repeatedly failing. I discovered this morning when reviewing some settings on my camera that the JPEG files are 8 MB! I have to spend some time trying to figure this out today.

Will try and post a few photos shortly...

We have sunny skies and it looks like it will be a beautiful day in Grand Cayman today, although our time here is fairly short. First tender is scheduled at 11, last tender at 5:15. We have no excursions planned today, but will likely take the ferry over at some point to walk around a bit.

More later...time to head up to the Windjammer for my daily serving of bacon...

Your photos are killing me (in a good way). So appreciate you taking the time for this.

Got my lounger all picked out in the Solarium. Can't wait to hear about Sabor. Thanks for the info on 3 Card. I play and Mr Wolf usually plays U Tx Hold Em. I might actually get him to play some 3 Card with that option!

Enjoying the review so far. Thanks for sharing it with us.

We will be on Navigator Jan. 11-18. Same ship, different itinerary.

Our friends Bob and Marlene are on your sailing. Tell them Lee & Petra say hello if you run into them. That would be a shocker!

I'll try a take a photo of the payouts on the 6 card option. I've had mixed results, but it definitely adds another dynamic to the game!

Some photos from grand cayman. Did a bit of shopping followed by Solarium time and then dinner at Sabor. In short, it was AMAZING! I'll post all photos on that experience tomorrow!

One of the most beautifully written trip reports I have read, and I am retired and have read many. Never ceases to amaze me, the generosity of time and photography posters provide. Hope you will post again when you travel next.

Good morning and welcome to Day 5!

Random thoughts and observations from Day 4....

- The Windjammer has prepared eggs next to the omelet station...over easy, over medium, sunny side up. This helps to alleviate the lines for prepared eggs.

- the logo shop on board has a pretty limited supply of t- shirts. However, I've seen a sale on the pool deck with quite a selection available.

- I am not a fan of Coke products. That was all that was available in Cozumel, but Grand Cayman had Pepsi products, and I as able to purchase a few cans for the bargain price of $2.00 each and bring them back on board. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do....

- I had the most amazing $18 margarita at Sabor last night that was worth every penny. When I tried to get the drink replicated at Baleros, it was not even close. However, when I checked back in at Sabor to find out where I could get this beverage again, I was told the R Bar can prepare this amazing drink.

Which brings me to the Sabor dining experience last night. In short, the BEST speciality restaurant we have tried on any RCI ship thus far. Although we have only done two other previously-Chops and Portofino....

Photos coming up next....

What I'd do for some of those bacon wrapped jalapeños. I'm not sure if you have a drink package, but the second night I was at Sabor I was told with my premium package the margaritas were included. The sweet and spicy and jalapeño cucumber margaritas were amazing. Also, with I could make guacamole like that at home. Best I've ever had! Glad you got to try it.

I'm getting hungry again just looking at the photos. Enjoying some time in the empty solarium right now. We'll be going into the port area some time this afternoon, and I'll post Falmouth photos later!
