Hello. We are on the 8 & 6 night Independence B2B cruises.

Would be happy to report back on any concerns or questions.

We are only at the Gold level in a D2 balcony so will not experience anything related to suites or high C & A.

Glad to look at kids club but, again won't experience it ourselves.

Leaving on Friday (November 21). Expect to have wifi on Wednesday, 26th and could check in then. Also, hope to have wi fi (at least for an hour or so) on Wednesday, December 3rd. If not, I will for sure report back when I return.

I don't think that I will post pictures so, sorry, no menus or dailies. But I can take notes.

Ellen

On the surface this seems totally ridiculous but it's my line of work: what brand of Air Hockey tables are in the arcade? If they are Dynamo do the metal top rails have black plastic corner protectors, or are the metal corners rounded off?

Will help me determine if I gotsa to bring some when we go in January ;)

Hi, thanks for taking questions from us.

Embarkation day lunch - which locations were open (and times)?

Arcade - What are the prices on the games?

Thanks a bunch!

Embarkation day lunch options would be Windjammer (buffet), Cafe Promenade, and Sorrento's.

My friends and family will be onboard on the 30th, can't wait!!! I am wondering if the shops will be "Americanized"?

What is Americanized? Hasn't she spent half her life in FL anyway? The only thing I recall unique about her was the teapots, which we stuck in the closet anyway

We will be on the IOS for Halloween 2015!:D Would like to know if they might have the freestyle soda machines installed by then. Also, if you can find out who the CD will be (if known:cool:), plus if there is a general email for the CD on Indy.

Thanks for taking our inquiries!!;)

Will be happy to check it all out for you. Just not sure about Americanized - do you mean that while she was in Europe the merchandise was European brands rather than American? I will look, but not being a "shopper", I have never looked at the shops for more than a walk through.

Pennielz and mcgore83 - also very excited!

Just enjoy your cruise and come back and tell us what you did and enjoyed.

We cruised on Indy'd sister ship Liberty several years ago, and the 8 night itinerary fit well into our schedule, so we will be sailing on Indy starting Valentine's Day, February 2015.

Have fun!!!!

Reading all things Indy, noticed that posters said the shop merchandise was very high end and catering to the European market. No big deal, I can get my spoons. shot glasses, etc. while in port. I would like to know if they have scrap book materials. Thanks in advance, too excited!

I actually found some info about this on another thread. It was posted that the logo shop was removed to allow more space for duty free liquor, cigs and perfume while in Europe

I am in St. kitts today with slow wi fi so will try to answer some of the questions if it works out.

The air hockey is Dynamo and yes there are plastic corners, but there are a couple missing.

The price to play the air hockey is $2.00. The other games run from $0.95 to $1.45 each.

The shops seem to have American merchandise as far as I can tell.

Embarkation lunch venues are Windjammer, Cafe promenade and sorrentos. We did a combination of cafe promenade and sorrentos. Worked out well.

Arrived at port around 11:30 (tried to get there earlier but the traffic is horrendous and took almost an hour from our hotel by shuttle from Dania Beach area).

Rooms were ready at 1:00.

Ship looks lovely and clean, well maintained.

MTD - we have reservations for the week at 6:45 and I would recommend making reservations. We just walk up to the desk and are seated immediately at the same table for 2 each evening. The line for those without reservations is sometimes long. When we exit at around 8:00 p.m., the lines are HUGE!

First night service was slow and not particularly friendly but has improved a lot. Happy now!

Second night was Saffron menu and we were not happy with our dinners so will make reservations for Giovanni's for that night next week.

Will post this and hope it works. Will continue soon.

We are doing the exact same thing right after you! B2B December 5&14. I can't wait to read your review right before we leave, if you are doing it live.

Continuing now since the previous post seems to be posted okay.

I am sitting at a lovely spot called Palm Gardens restaurant and shop. Looking out onto Basseterre and our ship in the harbour. From up on the hill. Swam in infinity pool, ate lunch and chilling away the day in St. Kitts.

A few more thoughts.

Except for the first day, there is a 2-4-1 special every day so far in a couple of the bars at 3:30 or so.

The house Chardonnay for $7.00 is quite good.

It has been VERY windy and so we have had a little movement of the ship but I find the Indy is handling it quite well.

But, because of that we have not spent as much time on deck as usual.

Missed the first night parade as we were tired out, but were at the 70's party and it was a lot of fun. Sat at the Dog and Badger about half hour before so we had a seat.

Shows pretty good - not great but worth going to.

Having been on other ships where the Captains reception was held in a nightclub or lounge, didn't enjoy the reception in the royal promenade. Awkward!

The returning guests reception was held in the Alhambra theatre. Also, didn't enjoy that. Just sparkling wine (poor) or fruit punch and no appetizers at all. First time for that on various cruise lines, including last year on Jewel of the Seas.

Those are both no important components of a cruise, just reporting.

Enjoying our cruise so far and would recommend it. Lots of families, with lots of kids, but, so far, just people having fun - no kids running wild and have not noticed excessively drunk guests.

Staff very nice and friendly.

Will try to report back again from Falmouth next week.

Exactly the info I needed and I appreciate the update. :D This will be addressed on the Jan 17th trip. The tech who services the Casino slot machines also tends to tend to the Arcade games, and a little "care package" from the manufacturer helps to bypass a frightfully long and complex supply chain.

Thanks for this information. 20 family members (ranging in age from 15 to 73) will be on Indy for New Year's. Because of the varied entertainment interests within our group, we are curious about the evening entertainment, particularly in the main Theatre and the Pyramid. Any info you can share on this would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy your vacation!
