Too bad Ryan had some issues. I took my then 9 year old snorkeling in Nassau this year and it was super wavey. She did a lot of complaining about that...and I ignored her. LOL. We did end up getting out a little earlier than others though because she was getting to much water in her mouth....though I did tell her if she kept it shut it wouldn't be a problem. ;)

Thanks so much for taking the time to post this terrific review. Hubby and I sail on January 25th. It appears that the 5 of you took advantage of everything that the Breeze had to offer. I can hardly wait to try out the rope course and of course the water slides! Only 42 more days. Wahoo!! Can't wait until you finish the whole review. Thanks again. Paula Z.

So after climbing out of the water and back onto the catamaran I was truly sad that we had to go back to the ship. The older kids and hubby would have loved to stay and snorkel some more too. Even though we were having a good time on the Breeze, the catamaran was better ;)

I thought to myself how lucky these people are to live her in this tropical paradise and have a job that they really enjoyed. I was quite jealous. I can not stand the cold weather and have been trying to talk my hubby into moving south for a few years now.

Here are some pics. I took heading back to the ship. We could not have had a more beautiful day! I am so thankful we had this opportunity! I could not keep a smile off of my face.

All in all, even though our youngest flipped out, we still had a fabulous time. Riding back to the dock on the catamaran I could feel any stress I had left just leaving my body. I was super relaxed and probably could have even taken a nap. We were all sad to take the long walk back to the Breeze, but we were also starving so back to the Breeze we went. Once we got to our cabins we were all so exhausted, we decided to get showers, relax and order room service for dinner!

To be honest after our amazingly fun day in St. Thomas we were all so tired! We ate our room service (which seemed to take forever to get to our cabins!) Apparently they were getting slammed when we called. I was a bit miffed about missing our nightly sit-down together dinner time but I knew we were all way too tired and hungry to make it though the MDR tonight. The chocolate cake from room service was delicious!!!

After eating we decided to relax on the balconies for a bit and watch us sailaway from St. Thomas, then the older 2 went to the clubs while Ryan, hubby and I headed to bed.

I think the 3 of us were asleep by 9:00!

I was extremely excited about our port the next day....Antigua! I've seen shows on HGTV were House Hunters International goes there and it looked like the most beautiful place in the world to visit.

Antigua was our only planned beach day of the cruise and I could not wait to relax, listen to the waves and soak up some sun. Some others from our cruise group were also planning to do a beach day, some at Jolly Beach and some at Darkwood. We opted for Darkwood as the reviews I read said it is more natural and quiet and there is no resort there. I could not wait til the morning!

We sailed the Disney Dream and were somewhat disappointed. The cruse was fun but we expected more from Disney for what we paid.

Disney had free soda bout only in specified places. If you went to one of the theaters you have to pay for soda and popcorn.

You can bring on your own alcoholic beverages on the Disney Dream.

We think the shows and food on Carnival was better than on the Disney Dream.

We did like the pirate show.

The TV in the cabin had only Disney movies and many of them.

There are many meet the character and photo ops. But you will have to wait in line. I did like the way they did photos. All of the photos you have taken are put in a folder for you and kept for you and held until the end of the cruise. You can have some put in a hard bound book if you like.

As others mentioned there is no casino.

I did find it interesting the Disney Dream had a deck 13 when other cruise lines don’t use that number.

Because of the price we had to get our first inside cabin every. It had a virtual port hole. Meaning there was a camera that projected a live image on the screen of what we would see if we had a real window. It various time some Disney characters would appear on the screen for a short time. This would only happen once every 45 minutes. Kind of disappointing.

Hundreds of little girls were wearing princess dresses that were purchased on the ship. They started at $60.

Hearing Disney theme songs played 24 hours a day can become annoying.

If you eat breakfast in a dining room the morning you leave the ship you will be assigned to the dining room you were assigned to eat the night before.

We paid $3161 for three passengers for 4 days on the Disney Dream. We have paid $2185 for three passengers for 8 days on the Carnival Freedom and $2627 for four passengers for 7 days on the Carnival Dream.

No offense, but you must be crazy! The SHOWS on Carnival were better than the Dream's? We thought BOTH the Dream & Wonder's shows were THEE BEST I've ever seen on my 30 cruises on RCI, HAL, NCL,Princess, Celebrity & Carnival..really, I thought the shows on all my 6 CCL cruises were pretty bad..and that DJ at the pool has GOT to go! NO Caribbean music with a reggae band? Buffet & MDR were the best of all 7 cruise lines IMO...cabin was THEE best ( by far ) of all 7 for a standard balcony..best bed ever..best shower ever...best BRUNCH ( at Palo's ) ever ( AMAZING!)..LOVE the 2 bathrooms in the cabin.....only the entertainment on the Oasis / Allure & NCL Getaway can rival Disney, IMO...I am also an agent for 17 years...yes, Disney is more $$, and Carnival is much cheaper...I encourage all my clients to try Disney if they can swing it...BTW, although HMC is a GREAT private island, it ranks 2nd on my list to Castaway Cay..CC is so much bigger ( 1500 acres vs. 250 ) and offers so much more..LOVE Serenity Beach for adults with their adult buffet...also, I didn't like the Cove balconies because they were too close to the water & too enclosed for me - I like open balconies around 50-65 SF...Ship wise, nothing beats the classic style of the Dream & Fantasy..RCI has great ships ( especially the new Quantum, Oasis & Freedom Class) , especially better for families than CCL, and the new NCL ships like the Getaway & Breakaway have great food choices & entertainment, and the MSC Divina has great deals, good food & shows...variety is the spice of life - don't just go by price...not to be missed: the Aqua diving show on Oasis/ Allure ( BEST non-musical at sea) , The ice - skating shows on RCI, the 4 shows on the Disney Dream ( "Villains" was my fav) , Michael Jackson show on the MSC Divina, Illusionarium dinner show the NCL Getaway, Mama Mia on the Quantum Of The Seas.....Carnival has really gone down hill with it's entertainment, blasting horrible Top 40 music at the pool, and reviews of their production shows have been terrible...Love your review OP, and consider trying other options for cruises..also, read my thread on the "tips for cabin selections " section called , " Thanks cruise ship balcony, a commentary"..it has 34,000 hits on it and has fantastic tips & info for balconies & why they are the best choice for cruisers....

Are the Disney shows based on Disney material as I would assume they are? Because I do not care about production value in any way if I have to sit through Peter Pan and Mickey Mouse. I just have no interest in that material and would be bored to tears.

So in the cruise group I had joined some people were going to Jolly Beach and some were going to Darkwood Beach. We opted for Darkwood as we wanted a quieter, more natural experience. We did not want to be the hustle and bustle of a resort with lots of people, noise etc. This was our only planned beach day of the entire cruise and I was so thankful to wake up and see the gorgeous weather outside!

If we wanted to meet up with the group and walk to the bus station we had to be off the ship by 10:00. Well be 9:30 we were all up, had eaten in the Lido, where we were greeted by our fav. server Dejan, and were eager to head to the beach. So we opted to head there by ourselves!!! There was a really great steel drum band playing next to the ship.

So we get off the ship and walk into the shopping/taxi area...what a madhouse! It was insane! Now only was it crowded, but there were so many people trying to get you to take their taxi/van etc. We just told them all that we were planning to walk to the bus station and take the bus and they looked at us like we had 2 heads!!!

So I look at the map Carnival had given us and it does not tell you how to get to the bus station. Oh great, my hubby gets nervous going to new places, esp. if he thinks I don't know where we're going. I knew from reading on cc that it was only a short walk so we stopped and asked this guy.

DSC04967_zps4bb8960d.jpg

He was super friendly and helpful and told us to walk down 2-3 blocks. head right and look for the giant head, the one that was bigger than his! Then go to the right of it and we'd see the bus station with the bright blue roof. I laughed and thanked him and off we went. I did remember seeing that bus roof from our balcony that morning.

So we're walking and walking and walking....now the sidewalks are basically black top and are very narrow and uneven, with a step up here, down there etc.. You have to be super careful when walking on them. So my little guy is not paying attention and slipped and scrapes the top of his foot. I tell him he's fine and we keep walking. We walk past lots of local people and little stores along the way.

All of the sudden my hubby says, if we don't find it soon we're going back...and with that I see this up ahead!!!

DSC04968_zps17392909.jpg

We made it! We walk over and a very nice lady is there directing people to whatever bus they are looking for, I think to myself it would be nice if they had someone along the walking route to direct you from the ship to the station....but I don't care...I'm just happy we found it and hubby can stop grumbling! We tell her we need bus #22 and she helps us find. We hop on and we wait for others to board.

They are Disney material, of course..I was NOT a Disney fan of Mickey, Goofy, etc.., but I am a fan of great dancing, singing, comedy, etc., and these shows have it...I stood for several minutes cheering these shows..If you would be bored with these spectacular shows, then nothing could possibly satisfy you- that's how good they are...

Carnival has really gone down hill with it's entertainment, blasting horrible Top 40 music at the pool

You kids and your loud top 40 music... get off of my lawn!

I like the DJ at the pool. But I'm on the younger end of the adults that you see on board. I think that's probably why.
