Worst thing about your cruise ..

Other than returning to port :-) Mine is the small circular shower. Yes as a solo I book interior rooms.

Things like that I can manage when I know what to expect. My worst so far is seeing half of the windjammer closed on the final day, knowing the reason half is closed is they are getting ready for new passengers. I've learned to avoid that by going to the MDR for the final breakfast.

My worst would be scheduling a scuba dive and missing that port. That one has me worried about my next cruise, especially since Royal canceled the scuba excursion only on my last trip to Coco Cay.

Yup, that would be my worst, I've had it good so far.

Having the Caribbean salt water play havoc with my clothes.

It seems they start to get tighter as the cruise goes on:eek:.

But alas....................

On our last cruise we walked the trak twice a day for 2 miles and stayed indoors using the gym and this must have cut down on the shrinkage:D.

Amazing.

I'm more of a people watcher on a cruise than elsewhere in life. Things that would annoy me on land, I can laugh off and enjoy watching on a cruise. I really hate "know it alls" especially when I know their wrong. I've run into a few of those and just laughed it on. The worst time I have add dealing with another passenger happened only once in 10 years. He accused me of stealing his deck chair which I had been in for 2 hours and he said he was only gone 20 minutes. He actually started threatening violence when his wife spoke up and told him where is seat really was. He had left the solarium on one side and returned on the other confusing himself where his seat was.

The shower curtain that can't help itself but to hug all over you while showering only to get out and discover the shower curtain doesn't keep the water in the shower. The entire bathroom is flooded.

Last night of sailing saying goodbye to everyone you met because you have to get up early and leave. :(

A waiter that gets the whole table's order wrong. Then delays/ignores you the rest of the trip as payback.

The final day when everyone is ordered out of their cabin's, buffet is closed and everyone wandering around looking for a place to sit until they are allowed off the ship.

Some things that come to my mind - some of which was my own fault:

1. On two cruises I have gotten really bad sunburn that kept me in the room. One of which was bad enough I think I had sun poisoning. It was so bad that we missed a shore excursion, I just couldn't leave the room - I was in so much pain.

2. On a Disney cruise, I had accidentally booked a flight too early. I had called the cruise line beforehand though and asked if it was possible to make my flight if I used the cruise transportation, they said they can never guarantee anything but yes, they thought we'd make it. They recommended speaking with guest services when we arrived and letting them know our circumstances so we could make sure we could leave immediately when disembarking. When I did that, the guest services person said there'd be no way we'd make it, the bus wouldn't arrive until 30 minutes before our flight. They also refused to refund the cost. I ended up crying and it was so stressful, went back to my room and tried to make a last minute private ride. Went back to Guest Services and asked to talk to a manager. When I did he said the person I spoke with was wrong and that the bus arrived early enough that I had a good chance to make our flight. Suffice to say we made, we were at the gate an hour early.

3. Princess had horrible buffet food, I literally disliked everything they had and I thought the quality was bad. Ended up eating in the MDR for every meal. Luckily the MDR had great food.

4. Oh and on disembarkation day when everyone goes up on the elevator because it's crowding, leaving anyone on a higher deck forced to take the stairs with luggage. We don't even bother with elevators anymore on disembarkation day, we just make the trek down all of the stairs with two large suitcases.

The last morning when they have you penned up like cattle waiting to disembark and staff that literally can't wait to get you off of there. It always leaves a last, nasty taste in my mouth even after an otherwise wonderful cruise. The one benefit of a land vacation is that people are always coming and going so there is never a finite 'last day' atmosphere.

Since you asked, as a non-smoker the worst part of the cruise for me is the prevalence of smoke indoors, usually in the casino. Since RCI went to their new smoking policy, the casino is now used as an indoor smoking area (which I do understand). Unfortunately the smoke doesn't "stay" in the area and seeps out into the neighboring areas of the ship - into the Centrum on Radiance class and up the casino stairs into part of the Royal Promenade on Voyager class. The outdoor smoking areas do not bother me.

Receiving disembarkation information in the cabin before the cruise is even half over.

It's as if almost as soon as you're onboard, they're already plotting to get rid of you. :(

I also hate this... Most people just put if to the side anyway, and it's a horrid reminder that your time is coming to an end. I understand that the paperwork is necessary, but save it for the last night.

Worst thing for us is having to fly to the cruise port. Really envy the folks who are within easy driving distance.

We remember all the years we had to fly from Illinois to a port to cruise - one of the best parts of our retirement is living about half way between Port Canaveral and Tampa with easy access to the smaller ships we love.

Someday you'll be able to choose where to live based on cruising instead of careers. Just something to look forward to!
