Princess Horn

Not as recognizable or iconic as When You Wish Upon a Star. Plus who owns the rights?
Princess must since two ships already have the Love Boat theme horn. And IMHO, the "Love Boat" is as recognizable and iconic as "When You Wish Upon a Star." :) Particularly among cruisers.

To answer the OP's question, I do think it would be fun to have the theme on all Princess ships. It's distinctive and fun.

Just watched both the Regal and Royal sail out of Port Everglades blowing their horns to the Love Boat theme. Very cool and a lot of fun. I also agree that it is VERY ICONIC and very special to me.

Last year on the Royal, I looked forward to that horn in every port. I wish they would put it on fleet wide. It is the brand...

Agree entirely. It was an exciting moment at each port.

Wonder what Princess pays for the rights to use it?

Must be me...but we were on the royal last year for 21 days and WAY 2 many renditions of that once delightful song....I personally hated it at the end and am glad they don't have it on the diamond this year. Like they say, it takes all kinds.

I've enjoyed the tune but was on the Royal for only 10 nights so didn't have too much time to get tired of it.

That said, I suspect those upgraded horns could play other melodies as well.

How about "Anchors Aweigh" when passing a US Navy ship? - Salute

Or the theme from the movie Titanic when passing a Cunard ship? - Tease

Or "Roll Over Beethoven" - OK, I'll stop there ... but others can pile on ...

I guess a lot of people like it. To me it's a "meh" kind of thing. If they change all ships in the fleet to play the tune I'm sure many will be very happy. I couldn't care less. I just love to cruise and love the product Princess provides.
