Havana Daydreamin Back 2 Back on Serenade NOLA "LIVE"

Recommended Posts

There are many.

I use an app called Turbo Scan on my iPhone. It has come in handy for more things than cruise threads as it will also convert to PDF

Ok. Thanks for the taking the time to respond. Need to see if such a thing exists for Windows phones and how user friendly they are!

ETA.... ooh they do..... had no idea you could do this from a phone..... thanks!!

What a treat to behold today going out in the daylight hours. As I type we are able to easily see the Gulf of Mexico and located not far past Buras.

The first couple views are of historical buildings. I believe one is the Jackson Barracks and the next is so very interesting to see, the Battle Field where the Battle of New Orleans was fought.

Then it was time to bid goodbye to NOLA until Saturday morning.

Following some general landscape pictures of the day.

I can still see you NOLA!

IMG_5566_zps3fc75cf2.jpg

However, I am very soon able to see the first glimpse of the Gulf of Mexico also!

So it was time uncork a bottle of Cabernet to enjoy while enjoying the sights of the Delta, doing these posts, and ultimately preparing for the Chef's Table this evening.

Thanks for following along! ALSO special thanks to IluvtocruiseRCCL!!!!! for the map location posts. I will enjoy those for the scrapbook!

Thank You so much for posting all of this information! We sail on Serenade in a few weeks and are loving these pictures. So glad you are able to sail and get all your ports! Plus, I'm kinda jealous of being able to travel down the river in daylight!

Where do the maps of sail way come from? Is there an ap for that?

Enjoy your vacation! Thanks again.

What a great treat! It takes about 6-7 hours to get to the mouth of the river and into the Gulf, so you should have most of the trip down in daylight. Once you are in the Gulf, you should have a very nice of view the oil rigs lit up at night. This is a spectacular sight.

I imagine that the onboard stores and casinos will be open by 8 pm. Have fun!

Kellie (or is this Chris? :)) Dennis has that and a Google Earth program. Hopefully we will have sufficient daylight to see Chalmette and possibly the Civil War forts. But I'd prefer to leave as scheduled notwithstanding the great daylight transit of Old Man River! :D

RCL rep just said we were fine for a cabin!

YAHOO

I will just have to wait in line all day to get on as there were no porters and I only brought my carry on for the moment

It will be interesting.

I feel bad for the many who cannot cruise today.

There were no porters the Saturday before when we boarded. We actually made it to where we go through the scanner before someone said to us. We didn't realise we were there! DH had to drag our stuff to the porters, for baggage tags.

there were tons of porters waiting on return though, we skipped them.

thanks for sharing! I loved the new Orleans pictures. I grew up 15 minutes from new Orleans, but haven't really experience the city as an adult, it's on my to do list, but husband doesn't like the city, and works, so would spend vacation on something else.

The rolling of the sea provided an extremely restful night after immensely enjoying the Chef's Table. I am so very glad that we have it scheduled again for next week. The server/somallier said it will be a different menu since we are doing consecutive weeks. More about that will be provided later.

Here is our current location from the ships channel on the TV. How I wish I had a mapping GPS, but that would just add more weight to my "toy box" of cameras and paraphernalia.:o

Pleased you are enjoying your cruise! Just curious as to if areas of the ship (such as the Theatre) are still in use after the problems experienced at the end of last week's cruise? Anything else extraordinary on board relating to repairs?

This is a MUCH nicer sight and sound than yesterday morning.

While I am very happy, there still is a bit of lingering sadness for those who could not enjoy this kind of view because of the damage to the cabins. I don't really have much information of what is happening to those affected cabins. Hopefully they will be fixed for next week so the same disappointment is not experienced by others.

I really do not have any updated info about your questions. Sorry. Maybe today as we are out and about a bit.

We did not make it to any show due to our dining option last night so I am not sure what to say about that.

However, the Theatre is still out of service it would appear by the Cruise Compass as the evening show is printed as being in the Safari Club.

Hope that helps a bit.

I just found this thread and have been reading from the 1st post. I so admire your positive attitude and keeping us posted. We sail on Feb 28th so hoping all is fixed and like brand new when we embark. I'm thinking, this could have happened when we were on the ship so a bit anxious to see what RCI does between now and then.

I could not agree more... We leave on March 7th and I immediately said a prayer thanking it was not OUR sailing! I feel so bad for all of those effected and surely hope the problems are fixed before any of the next sailings! Once again, thanks and bless you for having such an INCREDIBLE attitude! I cannot wait to read and see more! Enjoy your Seaday!

If you get a chance over the next week could you ask the Blairs if they are going to be onboard Mid-March? Someone on our roll call was asking and I seen information that stated they were taking time off at some point and then coming back later.

Thanks

John Blair is the CD for those not aware. :)
