We just arrived in Fort Lauderdale waiting to board Ruby in Saturday. Our suitcases have seen a lot of use the last couple of years and the wheels wont handle me having to pull them from here down the I-95 to Miami....

I cant imagine where they may have ended up then! What if they were in Miami and Ruby is really boarding at Fort Lauderdale? I wouldn't be very popular if I insisted that Ruby make a stop at Miami just for my suitcases.

We are going to be onboard for 49 days and I dont want to even think how long it would take my wife to get over having to wear the same clothes for 49 days! Good thing for the Elite laundry and Mini Bar....and Happy Hour too come to think of it.

Must be an error. Princess doesn't go to Miami, even as an itinerary port.

The Ocean Princess will make its final three Florida calls at Miami rather than FLL. The reason given was too many ships at FLL. As the first cruise (Caribbean Connoisseur) does not visit a distant foreign port, it has to return to where it came from, and I guess Princess figured it was best to have all three calls in Miami.

I see by the web cam that Ruby Princess isn't the only ship that has moved to Miami though.

I would actually LOVE to see them drive an Oasis-class up the Miami ship channel. Can you imagine? ;)

Here's an AIS screen grab of the ships in Port Everglades today...

I was just checking out the Princess ship web cams and it shows that the Ruby is going to Miami,is she moving there or is this just a port call.

Many people I know who work on ships just use 'Miami'

to refer to Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, and Florida.

I had one girl (who is very smart) ask me if Miami is a state.

It sounds crazy to hear that, but then I doubt I could name

a state in her country...

Crew often flies into Miami, and that is what sticks in their mind.

On Carribbean, as I boarded, there was a log sheet inside the

shell door, which recorded the date/time/place when the door

was opened and closed. Even on that, it said Miami (and the

ship was in Ft. Lauderdale)
