What Additional Routes Can Carnival Add?

Are there any new routes that Carnival can add to their existing U.S. sailings that they aren't doing now? When additional ships arrive (Vista or anything else) would Carnival keeping adding routes or remove existing ships from their fleet in favor for the newer ships on the same routes. At some point I would think over saturation would be an issue.

I hope so, since we sail for ports, that's my #1 most important factor in choosing a cruise. I see that they have Amber Cover in the Dominican Republic now, so you can do Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, and Amber Cover on the Conquest. Any other new ports being developed?

Panama , Costa Rica on a regular weekly or bi monthly sailing , They used to go there once and a while .

THIS!

They could easy get Tampa a ship with a 8/6 night cycle with the 8 night going to Panama, Costa Rica, and Colombia. I think this would be the easiest port to do it from, and it would bring cruisers to Tampa. I just had a thread with a lot of ideas for Tampa with these ports included.

THIS AGAIN! Beautiful itinerary, would definitely take in a heartbeat!

I did Limon, Costa Rica and Panama several years ago and didn't care for it at all. Actually, it was my least favourite cruise to date. Now Cuba, that would be another story! I'd love it if they would open up Cuba to cruise ships!

If a ship were to leave Tampa on a Cuban cruise, would there have to be a sea day in between?

The rest of my family took this route on the Freedom Christmas 2011. I wasn't able to join them, unfortunately. They LOVED this route, and I'm dying to go on it.

In other news more routes that go to Bermuda, that aren't just Bermuda. For example, the May 26, 2016 on the Breeze or RCI has a regular sailing from New Jersey that does Bermuda and the Bahamas.

I wanted longer itineraries this time last year (in months that I could actually sail!), and I got my wish! :) Here's hoping we will get some others on our wish list!

As far as Caribbean wise, there isn't a lot that is untouched. Though I would like to see them go to Cartagena Columbia on a more regular basis. I would consider an itinerary that included Cartagena.

Would love that route again! I think they used to have Cozumel or Belize rather than Columbia, but 2 sea days before and after the cruise would be heavenly. Could they ever try to do what the Princess and Royal ships do? They enter the canal at 7, go through, turn around in Gatun Lake, and are out by 1-2, and then dock in Colon for the rest of the night. That would be very cool. Expensive, but it would most certainly draw guests.

Do this on a Spirit class ship (the only class we've yet to sail) from Tampa and that is our next cruise booked hands down.

I think an iceland/greenland itinerary would be nice that leaves out of baltimore 4-6 times a year. Maybe two stops per country. Maybe a 8 day cruise.

Like to see more variety in the west coast mexican riviera cruise as its on my bucket list but have not been excited about the limited number of stops. The journey mexican riviera cruise is strong but boy is it pricey!

Any exploration into south america would also be nice even though I know there are other cruiselines that do those itineraries, I guess I would like to see what carnival could offer those routes for. My parents just got off the Pride that went down to costa rica, panama canal and loved it. Like a prior poster said, offering an 8 night going to Panama, Costa Rica, and Colombia would be great for starters.

Cuba of course!

A ship could probably get to Cuba without a sea day but I would think they would probably make the route

Depart Tampa, sea day, Grand Cayman, Havana, Montego Bay, sea day, Key West, back in Tampa

Or Tampa, sea day, Montego Bay, Havana(over night), Havana, Grand Cayman. sea day, Tampa.

I think overnight stops in Havana would be huge and really excite people who want time to explore the island, because current trips there from Tampa I've looked up are about $3000 pp for 5 nights. That includes flights from Tampa, hotels, some meals and escorted tours. A 2 day cruise stop in Cuba would be a game changer whoever could score that deal at the port.

We did a similar itinerary earlier this year on the Coral Princess that included Columbia, Panama & Costa Rica & enjoyed each Port. That cruise was a 11 day partial Panama Canal transit so was only able to look around & shop at the Port at Panama since we were picking up passengers that did a Panama Canal excursion but looked ok with us. Wish we had more time to see more of Panama than just the shopping area.

If Carnival would have a itinerary that did these Ports from Tampa, we would for sure book it :D !! Maybe a longer voyage( 10 days) covering these Ports & follow up with a shorter voyage of 4 days..............something like that ;) .

I would love for them to add the Pacific Northwest reroute that they did during the Swine Flu outbreak in Mexico. We stopped in Astoria, Victoria, and Vancouver.

Yes!! A California Coastal cruise from LA. A stop in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, and Vancouver would be nice. I would definitely take a cruise to Canada!

Hawaii around the islands to go after NCL

If Carnival were to do that, they would have to flag a vessel under the United States of America, and get all the workers to be United States Citizens. All because of the Passenger Vessel Services Act (PVSA). I, and many other people, think the PVSA should be repealed, since it served it's purpose last century.

This cannot happen. With the ships flagged in Panama and Bahamas, they must exit the country at least once (for nowhere cruises, they have to go to international waters) in order for the cruise to be legal. that's why you see the ships leaving from Vancouver or stopping in Victoria on the way there or Ensenada on the way back or going down to the Pacific Islands and such. Under the U.S. Flag, they can go to the U.S. and come back. But that takes lots of special approval, and carnival isn't really out for that market. they stopped the europe cruises because of flight issues. flights to Hawaii are a lot more expensive than flights to Europe.
