ggprincess2004 Posted May 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) Café Caribe is part of the buffet area. That area is used from early in the morning to late at night. It is carpeted, but you might still hear people walking, vacuuming, etc. Outrigger is a bar. You might want to consider balcony on Caribe deck, they are larger and partially covered, partially uncovered. Colo Cruiser Posted May 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Riviera deck balconies 600-700's are a great location. Out the aft doors to the pool area then 1 deck up to the buffet. Usually pretty quiet.

skynight Posted May 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2015 The Cafe Caribe is part of the buffet area. Most seating in the Cafe Caribe area is open from 5am until midnight. The Cafe Caribe serving lines are open for 6am to 10am; 11:30am to 3:30pm (sea days) and 5:30pm until midnight. In the evening the Horizon Ct. serving lines are not open. flamomo Posted May 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) I've cruised on the Ruby twice, longer itineraries both times, most recently for 32 days on a South America itinerary in January and February of this year, and really like the ship. For the 32 day cruise we had R623 and loved the area ... very quiet, convenient to the aft stairs and elevators, and a short walk all the way aft to get out to the Terrace pool. The Outrigger and rear entrance to the Horizon Court are just a few stairs up from that pool. It really is a good location. I would not hesitate to book another cabin in the R619 to R747 range of cabins. Edited May 22, 2015 by flamomo

Thanks If you're a late riser, you might want to consider the early morning feeding frenzy stampede! On early calls you might hear the footsteps around 5am. ar1950 Posted June 1, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) Sailing the Ruby Princess in JulyNorthern most port is Skagway, AK. Any chance the Northern Lights will be visible late at night? With the summer daylight lasting late ("the land of the midnight sun" you know ) it is unlikely that you can see the Northern lights. Winter time is the best time to see them. Nothing is impossible however it is extremely unlikely that you will see them in SE Alaska during the summer cruise season.
