Pacificlander Posted May 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2015 Are the balconies larger on the Caribe deck of the Grand Princess? Does anyone have any preferences as to what deck the "best" balconies are??? Thanks!

Nancyquilts Posted May 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2015 Yes, Caribe deck balconies are the bigger ones. Half covered. Even larger than those of the mini suites on Dolphin deck.

Colo Cruiser Posted May 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2015 Dolphin deck Mini suites have larger decks than the other decks. That would be a negative, Caribe deck balconies are a tad larger. :)
Pam in CA Posted May 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Dolphin deck Mini suites have larger decks than the other decks.Nope. :) Most balconies are 9'x5'. Dolphin deck balconies are 9'x7'. Caribe balconies are 9'x9'. Caribe are the largest, larger than mini-suite balconies. mek Posted May 28, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 28, 2015 We had a Caribe balcony on our Emerald cruise in Feb and have one for our Alaskan cruise on the Grand next month. They are very spacious and it's nice that there is a partial covering just in case - very good for Alaska.
Pacificlander Posted May 28, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Thanks all. Might need to call and switch decks for our Sept. cruise.
Colo Cruiser Posted May 28, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Only thing is, in Alaska we get a fully covered balcony as we spend hours out there. When it rains or snows its always good to have a little more cover. ;) At the rail the Caribe balconies are fully exposed.
sterling2 Posted May 28, 2015 #10 Share Posted May 28, 2015 The biggest balconies are forward on Emerald deck. There are only 8 of them -- they are completely covered. Only drawback is they are above the theater. They also used to have more furniture but now there are just the 2 uncomfortable deck chairs and a very small table. Not even a footstool anymore. Princess only provides those on upper decks, or so we were told when we asked for one. But the balcony is great!

There information is always spot on.....:):):) Bob

Not quite as big as the Caribe deck or Emerald/Dolphin deck mini balconies. But just a little on display with the Promenade walkway right in front of them. Not very private. I prefer the 12 mini suites at the other end (aft) of Emerald deck. They are big and private and fully covered.
Pacificlander Posted May 28, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Thanks for all the input. Called and moved to a Caribe aft balcony. Cabin/balcony combined 274 sq. ft. One we switched from was only 232 sq. ft. so we are getting additional space. Thanks again.😀
