Ould love to but as my husband is a reluctant cruiser, I have agreed to go with him to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. But that should be fun too! Life is Good Cruising Posted May 24, 2017 #1058 Share Posted May 24, 2017 Hello all, has anyone seen the quarter 2 cruise certs yet? I have two that was earned inquarter 2 but they were giving the quarter 1 certs out still. Also when did they ban Troy? I had blocked him a lot time ago. Here's the 2nd quarter certificate I received 2 weeks ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OTownNick Posted May 25, 2017 #1059 Share Posted May 25, 2017 Just off Empress. 2 "new" observations. 1) the last day of the cruise casino host delivers a sheet showing you the 8 tier level certificates and the required points and then where MY points were at that time. This way you can see how close you are to reach the next tier. I play roulette and on the last day I played 4 hours (verified) and had avg bet of $75 (verified) and I only got 600 points from those 4 hours. That seemed low to me. Host couldn't explain how they figure points out for tables. 2)- host told me I had "extra" points above my tier level and said I have $40 of free play or I can take it in OBC.... which I did. I guess it's worthwhile to find out from host about your points in case you can get extra stuff

Host came and saw me around 8 PM on last night of a 4 day, showed me I had 1641 points and offered to give me a $400 FCC or I could wait and see if I picked up another 400 points which would make it a $500 FCC. No mention of OBC or anything about "extra" points. Did not matter, I was happy to be offered a comp.

I guess it's worthwhile to find out from host about your points in case you can get extra stuff This didn't match my experience on Freedom of the Seas in March. First, the OBC benefit was based on my entire point balance and was separate from the cruise certificate I received. I received both a balcony/$1000 certificate and ~$120 in onboard credit after having earned ~6,000 points. Second, I had no alternative to the OBC. On previous cruises, I was able to cash out the points on the last night for cash. On this one, however, the only option was to have them automatically applied as OBC. Sounds like my $40 OBC was in line with what you got, Marc. my certificate was based on the total points for the cruise . I was just able to see that I gained only around 600 points from the last day. I was sure 4 hours at $75/bet would get me more than 600 additional points .my total Cert was $500 off. 2163 points was my total. They let me use 163 points for a $3 free play in slot and had an option for $40 additional in free play or I could have them apply it as OBC... Which I did. They did give me the option of $40. I'm still confused how they figure points for table play. If I played only 4 hours at $75/bet. I'm betting over $6,000 and just from that play based on the points for that (600) I would only get a $100 certificate? That just doesn't sound right- risking $6,000 to get a $100 certificate ??? Daghis Posted May 28, 2017 Author #1063 Share Posted May 28, 2017 From a slots perspective (of course, all gaming is not created equal), $6,000 would be 1,200 points which would be enough for a $300 certificate. Of course, it's not so much about the money wagered as it is also considering the house advantage for the particular game. (That's why video poker is $10/1 point because there is less of a house advantage than slots in general.) The house edge on roulette is only 5.26%, but on slots, it can be up to 15% (using this reference). So, for every dollar I gamble on a slot machine, Casino Royale's average take will be greater than the same dollar wagered from you on a roulette spin. Since you got 600 points for $6,000 wagered, I guess they consider their take from your wagers to be about half of what slot players give and about the same as video poker players. Daghis Posted August 7, 2017 Author #1071 Share Posted August 7, 2017 I leave this Saturday sailing on the Harmony! Does anyone have the email for the casino host? I found an old post where I had thought that the email address for the casino host on Harmony of the Seas might be something like this: HM_CasinoHost@rccl.com (generically, it'd be two-letter-shipcode_CasinoHost@rccl.com). I've not tried something like this myself, so I can't say whether it'd work. Anything anyone wants me to check out?Pump the casino host for any information you can get! We'll add it to our collective knowledge since that's the only way we have a chance of figuring things out. Have a great cruise!
Daghis Posted August 7, 2017 Author #1072 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Have others received the recent "We're Sending You Packing" offer? They're offering me $250 off a stateroom (insert unenthused "wow" here) plus a "Premium Tumi™ Suitcase" that they claim has a $1,075 value. This is for Allure of the Seas on September 24, 2017. I appreciate them trying to get creative, but getting a new suitcase just doesn't entice me. Maybe Tumi is a fantastic brand; I've not heard of them before. maryjaden Posted August 8, 2017 #1073 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Honeybee, I will check to see what I get and let everyone know what the certificates are. Marc, Thanks for info. I will try that. I will also see what I can find out any info. I am also going to ask him about where they are trying to go in regard to the survey they sent out. Not received this offer but have noticed more coming through over the last few months. There was one a while back that I was interested in as already had that sailing booked. Called in and was told if if I wanted the promotion they were offering, even with the "extra" cabin discount that was being offered, the cruise would cost almost an extra $1000. The person I spoke to said it was cheaper to keep what I have and pay $150 pp onboard at the casino desk to participate in the special events. Even though we were already booked they couldn't just tag on the events to our existing booking. Needless to say we did not pay and we are with you in the less than enthusiatic and certainly not very impressed club!
OTownNick Posted August 8, 2017 #1075 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Hi everyone. Things have been changing all the time with CR, depending on the day of the week and who you talk to. Overall as we all know, CR is taking away more and more of our benefits, especially to the frequent cruisers, like me, that cruise and gamble 25-30 times a year.. Some background on me-- I'm not a high roller, but I consider my self a medium roller lol. I bet $75/ spin on roulette and play quite a few hours on every cruise. Certificates I usually get are anywhere from $200 to $500. However, once I'm up over $1,000 in winnings, I QUIT regardless of how long I've been playing or how LITTLE I've played. Last week in the first 15 minutes of the casino opening I won $1,500 and cashed out and never returned. I obviously didn't get a certificate but who cares at that point. This weekend I won almost $1,700 but played about 7 hours. I got a $200 certificate. Currently I'm "told" by MY CR rep that the certificates don't really expire so don't throw them away. Also, another rep told me last week that if we apply a certificate it's $ off the RCI current rate. NOT off casino rate! If we don't have a certificate or offer, then we just get casino rates, but only on sailings within 12 months of LAST SAILING! I'm not saying this is across the board cause I may call today and get a different answer lol. I complain every time about the way they are taking away benefits and the most frequent cruisers like some of us are the ones who suffer the most! They REALLY need CUMULATIVE points. Not zeroing us out after each cruise. I went to Baha Mar in Nassau this weekend and they told me their points are cumulative and NEVER expire! Interesting. I needed to talk to a host if I wanted more details on rewards at what point levels but I didn't bother. It's frustrating what CR is doing so what I end up doing is taking my winnings and running. I don't care anymore about certificates because now you have to play a TON of hours just to get a $500 cert. Once I'm up big on the first night or at anytime I'm up over $1,000, I QUIT. And this has been happening many times over the last 4 months. 10 out of the last 11 cruises (since April) I have taken home quite a bit of money and played LESS! That hopefully gets their attention,
