Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)

Have others received the recent "We're Sending You Packing" offer? They're offering me $250 off a stateroom (insert unenthused "wow" here) plus a "Premium Tumi™ Suitcase" that they claim has a $1,075 value. This is for Allure of the Seas on September 24, 2017.

I appreciate them trying to get creative, but getting a new suitcase just doesn't entice me. Maybe Tumi is a fantastic brand; I've not heard of them before.

Marc, I don't think I've seen this one but I normally just delete the promo emails I get from Casino Royale b/c they are never as good a deal as the normal casino discount + certificate has been. Now that there is question about whether you can combine a casino rate + certificate (I haven't tried to book anything lately) then it may not even work any more ! Who knows....

The person I spoke to said it was cheaper to keep what I have and pay $150 pp onboard at the casino desk to participate in the special events.

Twice I have been cruise where the casino was hosting some kind of event (slot tournament, etc.) but had not booked as part of the tournament promo...and both times they permitted both me and my husband (both of us are legacy VIP members) to participate in the tournament without any additional fees. Now, if it were a golf tournament or something held off the ship I doubt we would have been allowed to participate for free but for those events held in the casino, so far they have included us.

if we apply a certificate it's $ off the RCI current rate. NOT off casino rate! If we don't have a certificate or offer, then we just get casino rates

I have heard this as well. In the past, MANY times, I received a casino rate + certificate values for both myself and my husband applied to the same cruise. In fact, in the past, we were able to apply multiple certificates to the same, previously-booked casino rate cruise (triple reduction) but I have learned that they have discontinued allowing certificates to be applied to already-booked cruises. Well, you can have them applied to a cruise already booked but they will reprice it to current rate so any savings realized by early booking would be negated. ...and now with the non-refundable deposit for suites, even that option is probably gone.

Just one addition to the above statement "...then we just get casino rates...". It has been my experience that if you do not have any certificates or other promos to add you will receive the casino rate for that cruise + an "additional personal discount" (my name, not theirs). This "personal discount" is based on the rating you received from your last cruise. Therefore, this "personal discount" will vary from time-to-time, depending upon your play.

For the last booking I did, I had a certificate valued at $300 (the worst certificate I have EVER received even though I played just as much as I always do. Another story for another time.). When I went to use it to book a new cruise, the representative told me that my personal discount was $350 so I could use the certificate value ($300) or my personal discount ($350). No-brainer. I used the personal discount and saved the certificate for something else (still unused as of this writing). If they have, truly, changed the rules where you can no longer combine a certificate with a casino rate, then I may never be able to do this again but as of the last time I tried, I was able to use both.

Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind the next time (if there is a next time). We have a few more RC cruises but have started booking other lines and will see how they treat us. Given Celebrity rolled their program out quickly and efficiently with very clear guidelines, I am underwhelmed that the old CR program was discontinued and a new program started so long ago and yet the fact is that they still haven't sorted out what the new program actually is!

Yeah I have 4 Polo Shirts now lol. However, we are all only as good as our last cruise. That's sad, especially for those that cruise 25-30 times per year. They only look at your last cruise. So if my last cruise I was with family and only spent an hour in the casino, that hurts my current offer...regardless of my previous 10 times where I had over 2,400 points per cruise.

All they See at that present time in their favor is [emoji383][emoji383][emoji383][emoji383][emoji383],Nothing else does not matter! Your just a quota on to bottom line!! Truly Sad, with out casino players and alcohol sales , No new Ships and they are short sided!

Tumi is a nice, not inexpensive brand. I would go for free luggage but I am a mooch for that kind of stuff. :)

Thanks Linda, I appreciate that ;)

I didn't forget you and the two other posters who want to see the latest certificate. Tomorrow is our last day on Anthem :( which is when I will receive the certificate. I will post a copy of both the balcony and ocean view certificates for those that are interested.

Hi Marc

Have not received an email about the Tumi luggage, don't know if I received a snail mail yet, still on Anthem. Luggage is not going to entice me to cruise and fly down to Florida.

Just received the Beach Bash BBQ email, with a choice of 5 different ships and sail dates, very tempting, but already have Anthem booked for early December and the dates for November are to close to Thanksgiving.

Thank you for posting! I emailed Club Royale and I was told that because I earned my "free" cruise in the last quarter that I can't use my certificate for the new quarter cruises :(

That's new. I know my sister has done that. I would call and get someone else on the phone.

You're welcome :)

Hopefully CR can work with you to an acceptable sail date to your liking so you don't lose your **earned**certificate.

I just had an interesting chat with Club Royale while trying to ask about pricing for an August 2018 Alaskan cruise. Apparently, I can't get any sort of casino rate for that cruise because they only offer such rates for a period of 12 months since my last Royal Caribbean cruise. Since I last sailed in March, I can only get promotional pricing on cruises through early March 2018.

For those of us who like to book our cruises early, this significantly penalizes us and reduces the value of any certificates we may earn as using them on a cruise we've already booked requires them to reprice that cruise at then-current rates, which are most likely higher.

Agree. It also poses issues with booking non refundable rate suites. I was told we can book further out with a nominal casino discount (which was a low fixed percent off value) and reprice after a sailing closer to the sail date. That said why would I want to book a non refundable cabin and wait to see what casino rate they offer at the price at that time!

But what also surprises me, is I that have an upcoming cruise that they repriced to a non refundable rate. Yet when I called back about pricing on a different cruise to see if the new non-refundable rate would be cheaper, I was told they don't have non-refundable casino rates loaded in their system:confused:

I have been able to reprice future cruises more than a year out with the Casino rate. We have also repriced cruises within 12 months. We typically book our cruises now through the Casino senior Specialist. I believe there is 4 of them now. I was assigned one who typically calls me the day we disembark.

We haven't repriced a cruise since May.

Yeah Marc that's what I mentioned last week- their new 12 month policy for casino rates. I complained about it. Gonna hurt me
