Un Published Suite Perks?

Love the portable phone to use on the ship, that isn't normally mentioned as a suite perk but it comes in handy trying to locate people at times.

We've had the M&M's ...plain and peanut, and the gummy bears were sorted by the butler so he only left the red and orange for me :). They bring my husband bar mix frequently, so that must be listed in his permanent file. Many cruises we've been escorted down and off the ship first in port...as well as priority for embarkation and disembarkation. Bathrobes, and slippers are always a nice touch in the suites. Bathroom scales I can live without.

Well, we can only hope he or she washed their hands before picking through your gummies ;)

I've had the portable phone on the STAR in the past...maybe that depends on the cabin type there. I was in the deluxe owners suite on the STAR the last time I sailed the STAR.

We were in an aft suite in March and when we asked about the phone we were told it was not available on the Star. I read about the phone on CC and was excited to have one since we had my DSD with us. Perhaps the answer was given as not available so as not to say it is only for the deluxe owners suites and make me feel sad.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what we can order as an afternoon treat? I do not want anything containing high amounts of carbs or sugars, so, no chocolates, gummy whatevers, bread, cakes, cookies etc. Cheese causes me to have migraines. The only fruit we eat are berries. I am thinking to just say don't bring and snacks as we will not eat them.

my guess is you can order just about anything within reason ... I bet if you tell them you only eat berries they will bring you a berry tray

My favorite suite perks:

Butler brought us snacks each afternoon, so when you came back on board after a day of beach or tours, there was a little bit to nibble on. On our last cruise butler realized we liked the cookies and fruit, so every day it was the regular snacks (sandwiches, chocolate strawberries, etc.) and more fresh fruit and more cookies.

The Suite cocktail party is wonderful: a great chance to get your picture with the captain, flowing wine or cocktails, and wonderful munchies: I think my son ate his weight in cocktail shrimp.

Priority disembarkation: at any port, you get to get off before others if you want. This is great for tender ports, ports you are exploring on your own and best of all at the end of your cruise when you are trying to catch a flight.

And, as others have mentioned, just extra care. Our butler on our last cruise checked in on my mother when she was in the suite while we were on shore: not just to bring her lunch, but to make sure she was OK. Our concierge arranged a wheel chair for my mom to disembark even though we didn't ask for it because she know the twisty windy way through real ship doors (with high thresholds) would be challenging for my mom's walker, and the steward with the wheelchair bypassed all that. Our butler brought us orange juice and classes so we could make our complimentary champagne stretch for all of us. Our steward freshened and rearranged our flowers so they stayed beautiful all cruise.

Have fun and enjoy your cruise!!

My niece and I were on the last April. She is a vegan… So Our wonderful Butler Jennifer, brought her crudités trays with a very yummy tomato vinaigrette dip.

We also had a bowl of berries in the fridge each day. We both love berries!

When we were in a suite, our butler brought us a large cooler and kept it stocked with ice for the entire week, since the mini fridge wasn't large enough or cold enough for what we wanted to store. She also kept us stocked with milk and chocolate milk, carafes of orange and pineapple juice, and lots of personalized snacks (my son liked the pineapple, pb&j sandwiches, and apple sauce, so that was usually waiting for us in the afternoon in addition to whatever other goodies were delivered that day.

My one and only suite experience was in an SJ 'window suite' on the Dawn. We had a cordless phone, but I did not realize it would work throughout the ship....thought it was just an extension of our main cabin phone, so did not get a chance to use it.

My favorite "unpublished" perk? That had to be when the concierge got us an early entrance to the 'chocoholic' extravaganza....;)

Wow - thanks for all the info! I am booked on Dawn in March with my family in a 2bed suite. Had not expected all those perks! Was on a suite on Allure, and did not get those benefits! Or, maybe because we did not know about them, we did not ask and did not get them.

Is there a dedicated lounge for evening cocktails for suite guests only?

No, unfortunately the Dawn does not have such a bar. At least I never found one last January when we sailed in a suite on her.

No, but suite guests can hang out in the Concierge area when the Concierge is present and can get complimentary breakfast and lunch at Cagney's.

The Epic and Breakaway have Haven bars, and very nice they are too :D.

A nice perk, apart from the M and Ms and gummy bears, is that you can ask your butler for an iron and ironing board, yay, nothing to get excited over I know but after travelling with cases packed for a few days crease free clothes are a luxury, although I do get a little peeved that I am doing the ironing whilst hubby is drinking the beer our butler just brought .

When we have been late back on ship our butler has been kind enough to make us a plate of sarnies to tide us over to dinner time, a nice touch.

We have had suites on other cruise lines but NCL suites are our favorites, more perks than any of the others. Really looking forward to our next one on Epic in March.

On the Dawn, the concierge room is the Star Bar during the day. In the evening this is the service bar for Cagneys, but was almost always empty otherwise (which is why they are moving Modernos there during dry dock. Until then, if you want a private, nicely appointed place for a pre/post meal drink.....

In general, the suite perks on NCL are better, but RCI does have their Concierge lounge for all full suite guests (not just for the top suite [Haven] guests....RCI also has their Diamond Lounge for their high level loyalty guests....would be nice if NCL would have similar....
