My friend just off the Breakaway. She asked the officers at the meet n greet specifically about suite refurbishments on the Gem (for me) and they said YES, "some suites" are being refurbished based on wear and tear. So- I guess its a wait and see for us :)

Though this isn't about the dry dock itself (I'm looking forward to pics of the renovations) and I don't watch that much TV while onboard, I do hope they've updated their stateroom programming recently. :)

They seem to do well with showing newer movies along with older flicks on their free movies channel but that TV Favorites channel is painfully tired. I swear when I was on the Breakaway in June 2015, they were airing the same TV eps that they did from from my Gem 2014 cruise. :(

Boston cruiser here.

That's interesting. I enjoy these little tidbits. The Dawn goes into dry dock and someone commented that they house workers.....And twice now I've seen someone on CC say that the hotel director or someone else told them first cruise after dry dock is Jun 24!! What ??

I just talked to my TA and was told she sees nothing about cancellation and Jun 17 is almost sold out.

She said who is "someone". I feel like a rumor starter. [emoji10]. I just said someone on cruise critic. I don't even know which threads...I read another one last night.

I also hear Gem could possibly come to Boston in 2017 to replace Dawn!

I get all my facts here [emoji109]....

The whole "someone" thing reminded me of a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. Hopefully this will not apply to any NCL refits!! We are booked on PoA March 15th, following a refit!!

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done

Good one. Let's just hope Nobody will cancel the Jun 17 Boston to Bermuda. Somebody said it was cancelled. Everybody could see the post on Cruise Critic. I couldn't find Anybody to confirm it. [emoji109]🏻[emoji106]🏻

(I could have done a better job with this little jingle.)

Happy Sails! Good luck! My chances are a little better now.

We were booked on the Jun 3 after re-fit but they decided to extend dry dock two more weeks. You probably would have heard by now if PoA needed more time?

I can tell you it has not been updated yet. Just off Gem on 10/30 and I totally agree about the TV programming being awful, although it has never been good on any line I have cruised with.

So for those of you who thought there wouldn't be any big changes, there are! Look at the pictures I have posted here for you. Enjoy. There is alot that can be done in 2 weeks when everything is planned and construction is in place as soon as the ship docks. Here you go....:D

Although I'm sad to see Cagney's go on this ship (I think it was the best-decorated room in the fleet), I'm really excited about the changes coming to the Gem and can't wait to see her when she comes out of drydock!

What do you mean Cagney's is going? You mean just being re-decorated, right?
