HelloKittysMum Posted November 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2015 I know what I'd prefer but am interested in what others think. Other things being equal, would you prefer a better cabin or a better cruise line. Eg balcony or suite on a midprice line or an inside/outside on a premium line. Rare Essiesmom Posted November 30, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2015 Since we have never sailed in a suite, and prefer to do insides to cruise more, I would do inside on premium line. EM
cb at sea Posted November 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2015 I'd like a better cabin on a better line......no insides for me!
OCruisers Posted November 30, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2015 It wouldn't matter what type of wonderful cabin it was if we didn't like the ship or cruise line.
HelloKittysMum Posted December 3, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted December 3, 2015 I would prefer to go for the better ship but was interested to see what others think. And I'd take an extra trio in an inside than not go.
Rare LHT28 Posted December 5, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 5, 2015 Years ago we took an inside so we could do a longer cruise Now I would take an outside on a better line I do not need a balcony but just some light from a window is good for me
crystalspin Posted December 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 5, 2015 In 2013 we chose what turned out to be a lesser cruise line that will remain nameless, because we could get a balcony for the price of an inside or maybe obstructed outside on our previous line of choice. The balcony didn't really make up for the shabbiness of the decor and decorations for me. Although the floor-to-ceiling window was pretty nice... We went back to "our" cruiseline for the next two cruises, and somehow found the money for upsells to at least an OV -- natural light turns out to be quite important for my DH. Note: "our" cruiseline is not considered a high-end one, it's often mentioned in one breath with the one that did not appeal to us. So it IS necessary to shop around to find your sweet spot between price and value!
jmckay331 Posted January 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 24, 2016 I'd go with better line or ship...since if you don't like the room at least you can enjoy the ship. You may find that the better room won't make up for a disappointing ship

gymbomb Posted February 20, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 20, 2016 If it were just me and my husband I would go for the ship/itinerary we wanted and whatever room fit our budget. We are fine in insides. But sailing with a toddler, I would absolutely go with a ship I could get a balcony on. That space is very valuable to me during nap time and after his early bedtime. rockdoctor Posted February 20, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Whether we admit it or not there is a class structure on ships. The better stewards are in more expensive rooms, better waiters in suite dining rooms Etc Etc. We always rank itinerary first, cruseline second and cabin third. Just my opinion. jewelmick Posted March 1, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) I would go with the itinerary first, balcony second, line, and finally ship Unless it's a TA with a ton of sea days...then it would be the opposite Edited March 1, 2016 by jewelmick
