We will be stopping in St. Kitts and looking for a great beach to visit. We have 6 families traveling with us and looking to find information regarding pricing...cheaper to book off the cruise or go with one of the cruise excursions. We will be on the Carnival Breeze.

As LHT28 has mentioned, your best shot will be reading through the subpage for St. Kitts on the link.

I have had a great time at the Brimstone Fortress. Spectacular views, great history and awesome to explore on your own. But beware, you have to be fit to manage the slopes and stairs.

We enjoyed Carambolla Beach Club in Friars Bay the last time we were there. Nice beach and restaurant there.

We had been cruising to St Kitts for several years, but after the first time thinking there was nothing left to do we would choose not to get off the ship. However, someone on CC recommended the beach club at Friars and we found it to be very nice. About $4 per person for a taxi there.

Very good list, and also to note that the nice thing about most of these is that they are very easy to do on your own and the taxi service in St. Kitts is very reliable and safe.

Palm Court is very nice. We've also enjoyed Carambola Beach Club as well.

I would appreciate seeing your list for St. Thomas. Will be there in 2 weeks and have nothing planned yet. Can't do a beach because I just broke my arm and will still have a cast but send complete list anyway, thanks.

Our family did the Safari Zip line a few months ago and we won't do it again. We have done several of these over years, so we kind of know our way around them. While the equipment is excellent, the operators are reckless and cocky. Their behavior is an accident waiting to happen. More than once the operators showed off by riding the zip lines without connecting their harness to the pulley; they just held on with their hands and arms. And several tourist riders were sent down the line before the previous rider was unhooked at the other end. These zip lines aren't that long. Small things, but we have never seen such recklessness before.

Once you get off the ship, you will find lots of vendors that you can negotiate with to get to the beach.

Notice that you mentioned 6 families -- how many people total? The buses are mini-vans.

We did the island train through HAL a couple of years ago -- very good.

And it didn't cost $109 -- it was something like $59 per person.

Glad to hear you liked the train ride!

We are sailing on royal caribbean and tickets are $109 for adults, $59 for child.

The Railways website states that tickets have to be purchased through the cruise line.

That is where I got the $109 from. Im sure prices may vary among cruise lines.

Thank you for this list and the websites. I would like to see Mountain Top and think we could probably negotiate a price with a taxi driver but I don't know how far it is and what would be a fair price.
