Height of under bed space

I'm wondering if there's enough room for my one el giganto suitcase, rather than a standard sized one. I thought I might take it instead of two smaller ones.

Anyone know the height under the bed on Grand Princess? We're sailing on 17 Apr.

If there isn't enough room, simply lift the bed frame and slide your suitcase under. Also you might need to leave your bag open, that is if the lid opens all the way back. I leave my duffle open, under the bed, to act as my laundry basket.

12 inches on the Star. Enough space for a 26 incher Safepac. We had two; one was a soft top the other a firmer top. Kept the firmer one underneath the bed and it fit just fine. We also stored our overheads underneath as well.

We have never had a suitcase that wouldn't fit under the bed and on our first cruise we took a "giganto" suitcase. We had to stop using that suitcase because it held way over the 50 pound airline limit. :p

We've only ever had one suitcase that would not fit under the beds. It was one of those upright trunk styles that, when it was laid down, the zipper would be around the upper edge. It was perfect for hauling scuba gear. Unfortunately, while it worked great for scuba trips, it was a PITA in a cruise ship cabin. It also weighed 17.5 pounds empty. We haven't used it in years.

A standard 30 inch high airline suitcase, which is about about 12 inches deep just fits. On most Princess ships you can stand a suitcase in the corner of the closet, but on the Grand the closets are half the size of other Grand Class ships with little space for a suitcase. If you are flying the largest suitcase an airline will handle without extra charges is 62 inches total L+H+D.
