Suite room service

Recommended Posts

We're sailing in our first Grand Suite (moved up from our usual JS) and while I always have heard that the menu is "better" - can anyone give details? Or a copy of a recent one? We typically order juice, a few pastries and fruit for breakfast and was curious what we can expect this time.

Thanks!

The "better" menu is the MDR menu. You get to order from the breakfast, lunch (when open), and dinner MDR menu.

Perfect, thanks!

We have been in GS many times, We don't cruise often, but when we do, it is in a GS. You are going to love it. Yes, the menu should be in you room, confirm with your room attendant. We also go down to main dining early and eat breakfast before starting a busy port day. You get excellent service in the mornings and you get to know your servers. They have more time to spend with you. Sure beat the herds in the wind jammer. John

you can order from the full MDR menu whenever the MDR is serving. copies of all three menus will be in your stateroom.

the GS however only has a full size table on the balcony and it only seats 2.

It's been AMAZING for us... Especially in the A1 Aqua Theater Suite balcony. The table itself seats 6, has a bar table that seats another 3, and you can pull over additional chairs very easily. GREAT views for the meal.

We will be sailing in February on the Oasis in an Owners Suite. We will be sailing with 2 other couples who are not in suites. Is it possible to have the other two couples in the suite for dinner and order room service. Between the large balcony and dining table it looks like plenty of room for 6 to eat. Any help appreciated.

We will be in the sky loft (star suite) on the allure. Do you know can you order one item on the menu (chilled soup) but then still go out to dinner later?

And the menus posted had chops listed. Does that or can you order. It just from Main dinning room but also specialty restaurants?

And is food still hoy when it arrives? On nil about 4 years ago we had a room with a. Utter and loved the idea of a relaxing dinner in the room but it took usually 2 hours for food to arrive and end. It did was always cold

We have had very good luck with the food arriving in a timely manner and still piping hot. We had 1 bad experience when the food was very late arriving but other than that 1 time, it has been ON time, every time.

prior to the new suite program, all you could order was the one or two items on the MDR menu that had the upcharge. with the new Genie service, I am sure someone will see about ordering directly from a specialty.

Don't think this is correct. We were in an owners suite on Mariner in 2011 and ordered from full MDR menu. In one right now and can order anything from main DR menu

What ship will you be sailing on?? I much prefer breakfast in Chops rather than in room, but we do get the in room breakfast once a cruise, food is not always hot/cold with room service

On our last cruise (in suite) we ordered MDR room service for dinner on the first night and dined on our balcony as we sailed out of San Juan at 8pm. It was one of our most memorable cruise meals - every bit as good as if served in the dining room but the setting.....priceless.

We'll be in an OS on FOS in a couple of weeks and know we can order room service for breakfast from the full mdr menu. What we're wondering is if we can order the night before for 7 a.m. delivery? If so, how? We know about the door - hanger order form but doubt it's the full menu, but don't know. Feel like a dope because we were in a GS last year and never bothered to find out! Thanks.

You can write additional items on the door hanger menu and they will be delivered at the time you select on the door hanger. We have done this many times and never had a problem. We always get a call on the phone in our room to let us know it's on its way. Very nice service!

We always call the night before to place our breakfast order and request a specific time. Food is always delivered at the time requested and is hot. They call a few minutes before the food arrives. We love having Eggs Benedict on the balcony.
