A few things I've noticed. You have to have the light on in the bathroom for the shaver socket to work (so if you want to charge your toothbrush etc you need to leave the bathroom light on overnight.

 

I really like the layout of the windjammer on harmony. Looks really modern. Was impressed this morning as they actually had proper English bacon and proper thick English bangers as they call them!

It was great last night

 

 

That is so cool how they have the back lighting behind the folks on the diving boards. That does not exist on Oasis and Allure. The Aqua Theater is may favorite venue on these ships.:)

Hi Mark,

 

Thanks for all the posts. I'm reading with very keen interest-my family and I are going on the cruise after you,leaving Barcelona on Tuesday. To say we're excited is an understatement!

If I could trouble you with a few queries that'd be fantastic....

 

I see you have a "smallie" with you. My 6 year old son will be travelling with us. I'm wondering if you have tried out Adventure Ocean? Assume it's up and running by now? Are the slides open all the time? What time do the pool areas close at?

 

Which leads me to my next query. Now that you're down around Spain what's the air temperature like please. Is it breezy by day? Need trousers and extra layer by evening or is it still warm? I've only cruised once before,around Caribbean,so it was roasting by day and by night. Out in Med sea in early summer I'm not sure about at all!

 

You mentioned in one of your first posts that it was a 20 minute check-in from port to room. Were your cabins ready upon arrival? What time did you check in at? Also is the entrance door to your cabin magnetic? Are people putting up posters on doors? I have stuff for our doors and plan on bringing magnets to hold them up. That correct?

 

How's Voom internet working out?

 

Any other tips for the kids would be great. Hope you're enjoying your cruise.

I've seen they have advertised out cruise as classic dinner rotation but wasn't sure if that meant just for atmosphere or if the food was different?

There´s no Dynamic Dining on the Harmony (or any other Oasis class ship). So the three decks just have those stupid misleading names. But menus are all the same for all three decks. You can chose between Main/Late Seating on deck 3 and MyTime Dining on decks 4/5.

Is each dining room's decor similar to the decor on Quantum Class Ships? On Quantum Class each dining room was decorated differently to match the theme of that restaurant, or do they just carry the name, and all 3 dining rooms have the same decor. Not that the decor matters, I am just curious.

Yes the kids adventure area's are all open. Our little one loved it!

 

Dawn till dusk and all the flumes are open too.

It's very warm during the day, if the wind picks up it can have a chill but not cold enough to need a full jumper or jacket, just a cardi or shawl will do.

We arrived in Southampton at about 2:50pm and were in our cabins at 3:10 I can't say that it will be as quick in Barcelona. Cabin doors are opened at 1:30 I believe. You don't get your cards when you check in now. The cards are in the room.

 

Yes, the doors are metal so you can put magnets on them.

 

How's Voom internet working out?

 

Fine, not had any problems whatsoever! I've just done a speedtest and get 12mb down and 8mb up on Surf and Stream package.

Just wondering if the tv's and the elevator lobby screens show how full the different dining venues are around the ship? We used that feature a lot on both the Oasis and Allure. It was very handy and usually pretty accurate. I haven't seen any report on these.

I am going on Harmony in November, this will be my first Oasis class ship. I was not aware of this feature, but really hope Harmony has it. That seems like it would be incredibly helpful!!
