Hotel in Seattle--any recommendations?

Hi there. Looking for recommendations for hotel in Seattle to stay for a day or two before and after a cruise on the Pearl.

It will be next summer but I thought I would start checking to see where folks were staying?

I'll do some research on Seattle but is there a hotel that is both close to the pier as well as tourist sites?

Is there one you particularly liked or didn't like? Convenient or inconvenient?

Decent room in a good location is what interests us most.

As always, very much appreciate any advice.

Personally, I'm a fan of The Seattle Marriott Waterfront, which is literally across the street from the pier. Good food, great views. Convenient to attractions. ($$$$)

Second choice is Sheraton Seattle Hotel, downtown. ($$$)

Depending on your plans, I also have to mention the Cedarbrook Lodge as post cruise retreat. It's south, closer to the airport, but I know when I'm back from a cruise, all I want is tranquility and a good steak. Definitely take a look at it.

Tons of info over on the West Coast Departures forum:

Have a look at the Hyatt Place, it's across the road from a number of the main tourist sites including the space needle and also has a free shuttle to the cruise port at Pier 66 where the Pearl sails from . We are staying there after our cruise and staying at the Courtyard in South Lake Union before our cruise. Both are close to transport and in nice areas . I would recommend going on the west coast departures board on here where you will get more information

I stayed at the Hyatt place precruise a couple of weeks ago. I cashed in points for the room and got a great view of the space needle. Like the above post said there is a free shuttle to the NCL pier or within a Mile of the hotel. The shuttle was running late on embarkation day so we got a cab for $10. Plenty of places within walking distance like restaurants plus a Walgreens right across the street. You can also walk to the monorail to go to Pikes Market or downtown.

You do understand those terms are mutually exclusive, right?

I know that :) I wasn't sure if I am able to name the site on here but they specialise in top secret hotel deals. I got a good deal for the Hyatt Place on that website :)

Following along! We also leave out of Seattle next summer. 6/25

Has anyone stayed at Inn at the Market? It seems to have some good reviews.

We spent our pre-cruise night at the Best Western Inn and Suites on Taylor.

It is close to the Space Needle, the Chihuly Glass Museum, and the EMP but a bit removed from Pike Place Market and the waterfront. They have a shuttle to the pier - $10.00/head

They do have space needle view rooms. There was also a great little Italian restaurant next door and offer a free breakfast.

The Seattle Marriot Waterfront is twice the price, but is closer to the waterfront activities like Pike Place, the Aquarium, and the Wheel - but further away from the Space Needle.

We also used credit card points one year to stay at the Sheraton Seattle, again a nice hotel - but a bit removed from everything.

BTW we typically take the train up from Portland so we are starting in the downtown area.

We just stayed pre-cruise at the Four Points by Sheraton on Roy Street - it was cheaper than the central down town ones but was in a great location - 10 minute walk tops to the space needle, museum etc. and that was with a somewhat older person who has to walk slowly. From there it is a quick (5 mins?) monorail ride to central downtown and can walk from the monorail stop to Pike Place market in less than 10 minutes. It was the cheapest place we could find to put 6 of us in one room, in the end it worked out cheaper to do that then rent two rooms more central downtown.

It cost us 7.00 total to cab from the hotel to the Pier and was about a five minute drive. The hotel has a shuttle for 7 per person, but clearly not worth it when it was so cheap to do a cab. The hotel has a nice courtyard area that can be used, was close to good food and close to attractions so we were happy. I would definitely stay there again.

I recently stayed at Hotel 1000. I cannot recommend it at all. We stayed in three different rooms over four days. Two of the three rooms did not have cold water. Housekeeping also didn't clean the room one day. On another day they didn't come until after 5 PM when I had the do not disturb sign up. This is supposed be one of the top hotels in Seattle!?!? If I had to do it all over again I might would stay closer to the Westlake Station.
