Rare May B Posted September 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2016 The Crystal Mozart is tethered to another rivership, through which her guests are transiting to get to land. As I write this, the starboard webcam shows what it looks like. http://www.crystalcruises.com/river/river-guidebook/our-ships/crystal-mozart/crystal-mozart-live-views
Wendy The Wanderer Posted September 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2016 Yes. It's called rafting, and is very common. Interested to hear about your experience on Crystal.
nancyevans Posted September 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2016 Yes, very common. Info about the possibility of rafting is discussed in the "Terms and Conditions" of the river cruises I've taken.
MalibooNewYork Posted September 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2016 The pictures were a welcome reminder of how much I enjoyed my two cruises.

Rare May B Posted September 10, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted September 10, 2016 In Bratislava, our AmaSonata was one of three Amas there. I thought it would make a great photo but didn't stop to snap it as we were departing on our tour. Alas, by the time we returned (and we stayed extra time and wandered back on our own), the other two were gone! On our other river cruise, we got to go through Viking, also. It was quite lovely looking. Two guests were on the computers in the foyer area, helping us appreciate our AmaSerena with internet (that really did work) in the cabin, on the t.v. Yes, it's fun to look at the web cam photos and try to figure out where they are. I recognized that town where the three rivers join together (the town whose name I always forget). ural guy Posted September 10, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 10, 2016 Yes, it's fun to look at the web cam photos and try to figure out where they are. I recognized that town where the three rivers join together (the town whose name I always forget). What is Passau? From Wiki: Passau (German pronunciation: [ˈpasaʊ]) is a town in Lower Bavaria, Germany. It is also known as the Dreiflüssestadt or "City of Three Rivers," because the Danube is joined at Passau by the Inn from the south and the Ilz from the north. From me: Very neat town, lots of energy from the college, interesting Roman museum w/ me as it's only visitor, park right where the 2 rivers merge complete with contrasting colors, my 2 daughters and I sharing a drink out on restaurant deck overlooking the docking area (and getting to hear about their adventure getting ice cream with some crew members, who had been given a few precious hours off duty) and the big pipe organ. One of my favorite stops.
caviargal Posted September 10, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 10, 2016 My favorite rafting experience was when we were docked next to another AMA boat and the owner of the company was on our cruise. They had a live band one night in the lounge and the other passengers were able to come over and party with us. It was really a blast!
