Aren't Radiance ships smaller, passenger wise?

I don't think there has been any talk of Royal giving up Radiance class....at least for now.

I believe Radiance class can hold a few more passengers than Vision class?

Ill have to Google....

Turbines, higher speed, and higher space to passenger ratio could appeal to a higher end line. Not the direction Royal is going.

I'm looking into SilverSea for a Dutch Harbor voyage.

I think only Enchantment (in the Vison class) has more passenger capacity than Radiance class.

Their biggest ship is 40K GT and some are half that. And they only hold about 600 people. Totally different scale.
They could probably retrofit Vision class cabins to bring the total passenger count to under a 1000. That would be an awesome ship to sail on!

Or maybe its cheaper, tax wise, to just build another ship.

One thing to consider is the regulations regarding burning fossil fuels and ships emissions. Newer ships install cleaner burning engines and systems. Not sure how easy or the expense to bringing the older ships up too emission regulations and standards.

I think the reality of slow Sept to Dec sales is starting to hit.

I agree. I'm not particularly impressed with the pricing, either. I compared a few to my current bookings, and one was about $20 less, BUT I would not get the $125 obc I now have. Another cruise was more expensive, and the identical cruise in the same month was cheaper on their website.

I think this has become the "we gotta fill these ships" brochure, and not really a sale.

Doing our 3rd in November. 2 others on Vison class. Very enjoyable, if you can live without a Flowrider and Royal Promenade.

Totally agree. Why I rebooked the Rhapsody for another cruise in January. Windjammer was not jammed pack like Navigator was. More quiet public areas that are scattered about. Back of ship on the promenade deck was like a private balcony. Never saw anyone else sit in that area besides us.
