If you want to post the Michael's Club "calendar of events" I wouldn't mind. We're on the next cruise in a suite. Have a wonderful cruise and thanks so much posting the Celebrity Today's. I just learned that the Muster Drill is earlier than last year's so I will re-schedule my 88-year old mom's massage to give her more time. Thanks for making MY embarkation day less stressful!! Thanks for the tour.

Your suite looks lovely.

Also thanks for posting the Daily.

I noticed that between 3 and 6 the only food available in the Oceanview was pasta or pizza. "Afternoon Tea" wasn't there. I'm hoping that was just a boarding day elimination and it'll be back today. We often skip lunch and then get hungry around 4 and don't love pasta or pizza.

Thanks for sharing your experience on board! We'll be on the Eclipse on the cruise after. If you wouldn't mind, could you post some pictures of the shops on board (specifically the one that sells cosmetics and such)? I'm looking to use my on board credit for some Clinique products, and I'd love to see the selection in advance of what they have on board! Thanks again! I love this thread. Enjoy your cruise!

Continuing with yesterday's adventures... After meeting up with our butler we headed up to meet the rest of our group who had been eating lunch in the buffet. It was busy but not totally crazy as many people had exited to go to their rooms. I had a salad and some chicken scallopini (very dry) and au gratin potatoes (short on flavor).

After lunch we went over to the spa to make appointments for the week. A very efficient woman named Nicole took care of us. We were booking about 9 treatments in total for Mike, Carol and me so she gave us a 20% discount off everything. Then it was time to race across the ship to our muster station in the dining room. We had been advised last week that sailaway had been bumped up to 4pm from 4:30 so this made the lifeboat drill earlier too.

After that we made our way back to the cabin to have our sailaway party. I had arranged with the Concierge in advance to have some treats. The butler set up three trays of goodies (shrimp cocktail, cheese & fruit, and hors d'oeuvres) and I asked him to bring a plate of cookies too. We already had our complimentary bottle of Perrier Jouet and vodka, so we whipped up our own cocktails and had a fun sail. Photos are attached. Did a video too but having issues uploading to You Tube so will just stick with photos going forward.1ee8cec9e3741fe2e4e68bbc95a2b76c.jpg2c24f62a71609ee953b52556d77d535f.jpge26e0ec91be896818ac125c6080f4b77.jpg204f3dd93228291749c6f32bfed68b44.jpgf40f3fca31ea467815567a5e67c7cd12.jpgf44aa6433e88a1de9b4bc88fd9a09dc1.jpg

Hi WonderMan;

Thanks so much for taking us with you. Your family with love the time spent with you in your living room.

Can you please give as much detail as possible about your mattress? Can the small inner mattress cushionettes be adjusted? Is there some kind of pillowtop for softness? Any and all opinions you have on the subject will be appreciated.

I have a dedicated suitcase with a foam topper that usually accompanies me on all cruises, (really needed it on Princess) but our next cruise is longer, and actual luggage space is at a premium. I would love to feel confident in leaving this extra suitcase at home....Any words of wisdom or advice will be gladly accepted.

Scanditaly

Will you be in a PH on Eclipse? If so, I can say that it is the most comfortable mattress we have ever slept on. We cruise three times on Eclipse in the same room as the OP.

[sorry, I cannot speak for any other room on board.]

The mattress seemed firm when I first sat on it but we slept very comfortably. There appears to be some sort of mattress topper in it. Unless you are someone who needs the bed to be very, very soft then you should be fine.

Thank you SO much for posting the Today.

I'm happy to see that Afternoon Tea is back and also really excited to see so many late night musical offerings.

Orchestra in the foyer at 10:00, the piano in the Ensemble lounge at 11:00, late night comedy at 10:15 and dancing in the Sky Lounge from 11 with the House Band and then the DJ from 11:45 are head and tails more than what we had last year.

So excited to board in two weeks!!!

So after our sailaway party it was time to change for dinner. I had spoken to the Concierge Sylvia when we got on board and asked her if we could bring our 4 non-suite guests to Luminae with us this first night. She said it would be okay and advised of the $30 per person fee which we agreed to absorb for our companions. (They now give you the option of either the suite pax or the guests paying it) We made a reservation for 6pm as Tina and John wanted to watch the Patriots playoff game which started at 6:40 so knowing we would be done with dinner by 8 they could still see half of the game.

Luminae was not even half full when we arrived but it got busier while we were there. It was pretty full when we left at 8. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. Our waiter was Floyd and the sommelier was Maggie who we had met on our cruise last year. She remembered us after Mike started cracking some jokes. She mentioned she was leaving in 30 days. Not sure if that was for vacation or if she's leaving Celebrity.

The food was great as per usual. I've attached menus and photos of some of the items including: Ham and cheese croquette (bonus chef item), smoked salmon, burrata, crispy pork belly, filet mignon and almond cake. I couldn't eat too much as I was feeling a little queasy from the motion of the sea. I take a Bonine everyday but the first few hours are always an adjustment for me.

After dinner we changed into more comfortable clothes. Half our group went to watch the Patriots win their game while the rest of us finished off the night in the casino. No luck on the machines for us though.4766d770ba5fcc79967d86b04afac0e6.jpg8639593dcb95c3d0ca12611625e9237f.jpg10be228e75661054b951093338f55d3b.jpg38460d01ff1808116d8dbdce9be1e2f2.jpgd63afca92d06d87ebb94d7592e1f42c7.jpgbd04257713c1240c440bc4860f823605.jpg

One of the questions we had when booking this suite was the comfortability of the sofa bed as my mother-in-law was going to be sleeping on it. I've included a photo of the bed set up with the extra mattress added. We were told in advance that if we had that added then the sofa bed would have to remain open all day and night but George the butler told us not to worry and they can change it back to a sofa for daytime use. Carol said she had a great night's sleep on it last night. And yes, that's a chocolate on the pillow.1a4cd409e8899d54618429a70712afa5.jpg

Set the alarm to wake up at 8 today as Carol has her first spa appointment this morning at 10 to get a mani and pedi. When we got our spa confirmation last night I noticed they had booked Mike's and my first appointments for today in error so I called first thing this morning to have them moved to tomorrow morning. Good thing too as Mike is dragging after imbibing a bit too much with John last night.

We ordered room service from George and this was probably the best quality the room service has been on any of our Celebrity cruises. Took about 45 minutes which was not a problem. George advised we could have orders right on time if we placed them the night before which is what we normally do but were just too tired and forgot last night. Carol and I had the crab cake Benedict which was excellent (no upcharge in the PH suite) and Mike just had scrambled eggs.

One thing I did notice sitting and eating at the dining table was a good amount of vibration at that spot in the cabin. Ship has been rocking since last night due to some wind outside. Not rough seas, but just enough motion to keep you constantly aware of it. Another thing I noticed was some banging on our ceiling over the dining table. I think the pool area restroom is right above that so someone may have been in there cleaning.29ac0fa422d4ed2db5e46e902617de7a.jpga0e3a55ff82fb9919b72a092e96881c1.jpg

That is a shame. We join the ship around then and Maggie is one of our favourite sommeliers on the Eclipse. I am sure was in Luminae last February.

From reading the thread, it looks as if Sylvia is still the Michaels Club Concierge. Could you let me know who is Maître in Luminae?

She introduced herself last night but I can't remember her name. She is French. We'll be there again tonight though.

Here is a photo of the Captain's Club info left in our cabin. We're at Elite level so the info is specific to that. There were no more of those coupons for gelato, etc. but there was an array of coupons for free drinks each day of the cruise. Not needed obviously since all drinks are included in this suite.279ff99807fca79fc69a74f0e27f2377.jpg9b6ca21c2e34c6fafddfd1cda2529a4d.jpgf42c42f834e5573c94ca0dafbb00d8d5.jpg

Isn't it great, they know you have a premium beverage package but they still waste all that paper printing out all the vouchers. You should still get all the others but they are all fairly useless as well§.

Did they leave anything in the cabin regarding future cruise new deployment for the period after what you posted. I am looking at 2009 just now and what I have seen on the future cruise bit the new deployment cruises still get all 4 perks for suites.

Thanks

Your posts and detailed photos of the paperwork are very much appreciated. Your sunrise this morning was stunning.

Sylvia in Michael's Club should have 5x7 cards with a list of the special Michael's Club musical events that are going to occur. If you happen to get there and get one, you could photograph that too. Thanks so much and enjoy your great cruise!!!

Just wanted to pop on and say "thank you" for taking the time out of your day/vacation to post all these wonderful posts.

I love looking at your pictures, the daily's and menus. I can't wait as we go on your itinerary, on the lovely Eclipse in a couple of weeks.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us enjoy your day (s).

Did I miss any info you gave on the Luggage Valet? I heard it was only available, again, on the Eclipse as some sort of trial basis. If that's true than everyone should use the service, it's incredible and maybe they'll keep it this time for all ships.
