51 lbs at the airport and you likely will be charged extra or asked to repack to another suitcase.

We will be cramming everything into one 29" suitcase so I'm guessing we will be way over 50 lbs. Taking a train into NY city so only problem will be hubby needing to lift it. :'):'):')

Disregard, I see that you're flying first class or business which allows 70 pounds on some Airlines.

Since you are driving to the prost just take a small suitcase with you. It's easy to pull two suitcases (I am in 60's and I have done it) I did need a little help from DD when I brought back all sorts of heavy pottery from Mexico and had it in big Ikea bags plus one suitcase.

Along with the weight suggestion, it's also mentioned that each guest is allowed 2 bags. So, how strict are they on quantity?

You are only limited by airlines. If you drive, no worries at all.
