thank you, I plan things because it makes me happy to have a plan. People who just flow along with no plan make my teeth itch. I could never vacation that way, but to each their own.

 

I'm very much about planning things that need planning, booking hotels and flights as soon as possible, booking must do shore excursions, but some people try to plan every hour of the day on vacation. That makes my teeth itch. Never heard that saying. I like it.

Hi, Can you tell me in which area of the ship does the Bubba Feathers Band play? Might just be something our group would enjoy. thank you!

 

They played every night in the Star Lounge, 5 forward, from around 9:30 to 11:30. They also played one evening in the promenade and once poolside. We really loved the show at night.

They revised the schedule. If the schedule has a middle of the week date, the implementation starts the following cruise. 5/14 for Liberty.

I wonder if they have had success dialing back the amount of room service/speeding up delivery times in the ships that it's been implemented for a week now?

Saturday night fever was TONIGHT on this week's cruise

 

Saturday Night Fever was Saturday night, the last night of the cruise.

 

Thanks for the info! Last year when we were on Liberty, I think it was on Tuesday night. Guess we will just have to arrange (or re-arrange) any dining plans once we know for sure.

A little of everything really. Anything from Van Morrison to Pearl Jam. All acoustic. He took requests and everybody sang along. It was really nice!

Oh yea, joined a little while back, thank you. I was just disappointed that the free room service just missed me by a hair. I love room service and was looking forward to it. However, I will still order, and just hope that I'm paying for faster service because many others will not order.

A TRIP OF FIRSTS

 

 

 

With typical excitement of most vacations, our group of 24 head off towards Galveston tomorrow to join the LOS and her voyage on 3/26/17. One multi-generational family, a family celebrating two college graduations, and a selection of couples traveling along for a fun filled week.

 

 

 

This will be my first RCCL cruise. Celebrity, HAL, and Oceania are my previous experiences.

 

 

 

I'm looking forward to the entire experience not as much as a comparison as to take it for what it is.

 

 

 

This will be a first where we will not be flying into the debarkation port but utilizing an itinerary and ship where driving is more than acceptable. To me, that takes some of the stress away.

 

 

 

This will also be the first truly mega ship that we will have ventured on. The Solstice Class ships by Celebrity being the largest so far.

 

 

 

We will experience all 3 specialty dining venues for the first time.

 

 

 

I've tempered my expectations to the point that it will be fairly easy to beat them. Having come off of an Oceania 10 day voyage on the Marina the first of February, we come to this to focus on enjoying family that is thrilled to be taking ONE vacation this year together.

 

 

 

So I may not be first in line to board the ship Sunday (stuck with yet another Coast Guard inspection). I definitely won't be the first to review the ship. In fact, I'm not even sure what we'll do first once onboard. But I'll report to those who follow along for the sake of sharing info with this community that so generously shares and posts for all of us.

 

 

 

This cruise is about building those memories that will remain with us forever. No matter the kid count or the lines. No matter the décor or the food selection. We'll see what Liberty of the Seas will provide for us this week as a venue to do just that.

 

 

 

So on Sunday we will embark and I'll report our impressions from the very first to the last.

 

 

 

We sailed on her in April (got back on Easter). We were celebrating my youngest son's college graduation (a little early he graduated 3 weeks later). I sailed with my 24 & 30 year old sons and made fabulous memories.
