Krazy Kruizers Posted May 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2017 I would choose Upper Verandah -- it is higher up. Verandah -- some of the cabins can't look directly down to the sea. You didn't mention which cabin category you are interested in.
CruiserBruce Posted May 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2017 Ah yes...the really vague word..."better", without any definition of "better". Thanks for the many suggestions of definitions.
Reagan0712 Posted May 15, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 15, 2017 For next April we picked Deck 5, Veranda, mid-ship. Wanted a veranda but didn't want to spring for a suite which is what they appeared to be on Deck 6, Upper Veranda.
DaveOKC Posted May 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2017 I would pick Upper Veranda but it really does not seem to matter much (to me) as both decks have all cabins above and below, plus you likely will be taking elevators to reach the dining, bars, etc.

That being said we'd book the highest deck that meet that criteria.:D

Sequim88 Posted May 15, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 15, 2017 plus you likely will be taking elevators to reach the dining, bars, etc. This is exactly why we picked Verandah deck (accessible on Upper Verandah was not available at the time) - figuring to be in the middle whether going up to Lido or down to the Promenade levels. Did get blindsided though by the cabin config not allowing beds to be made into one queen instead of two twins.

What other ships have this limitation?
CruiserBruce Posted May 15, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 15, 2017 I thought only the Prinsendam had beds that could not be reconfigured. What other ships have this limitation? As discussed on another recent thread, there are small number of cabins where the beds are singles only. In the case I was involved with, it is the long, narrow V level cabins on deck 4 of some of the Vista and Signature class ships, near where the ship side cuts in.
