Worst cruise ever

Not saying that this is the case here but on the topic...

 

When you encounter these individuals... When you see them ripping a waitress or bartender to shreds, approach them, and hug them. Hug them with all your might!

Force feed them love and positivivity! They may resist. When that happens, hug tighter!

 

Now, this has caused a few scenes when I've done it but in the end, I feel good.

 

Love will conquer all! Some people just need to be force feed love.

 

I don't know whether this was posted as a "tongue in cheek" suggestion, but it seems VERY dangerous. By todays "snowflake" standards, this would be considered an "assault". Possibly even a "sexual assault".

 

We love to "people watch" on cruises. These people you speak of are our best entertainment.

 

We cruised this past week in 21ft waves (Bermuda to Boston). A passenger complained to the captain during the Q&A about the banging, and creaking which kept him awake. He said that it sounded like a 500lb person was stomping above his cabin all night. The captain's reply was a classic....."I'll have to check the passenger list and get back to you".

The truth is all ships/boats creak in heavy seas. Something that this passenger never considered before booking a cruise. Most complaints seem to stem from lack of research & experience, or because people set their expectations too high, always to be let-down.

 

Our steward arrived at a different time each day to make up our cabin. It was not consistant.......9:30 one morning, 1pm the next day. I never considered him to be " not on-time". He was pleasant, he kept our cabin clean, and that's all I expect from a cabin steward. Everyone's expectations are different.

 

My favorites are those who complain about the food. If you can't find anything you like on an NCL cruise, even without paying extra, there's something wrong with your taste-buds.

I always question posters that come on just to complain and I can't believe anyone posting here defending the OP. There is a particular cruise line we have sailed on 3 times. I am not going to post which one, because that is not what this thread is about, but though it is a popular line, it is our least favorite for many reasons. Even then, when we posted, after sailing we could find many positives to remark on. If anyone has nothing but negatives, they have an agenda and worse than an agenda a serious problem. Nothing is all bad.

I have to say we have booked our 4th Ncl cruise the first being aboard the Epic and by far that is our favorite ship. Before our first cruise I was all over reading reviews of the ship. We didn't choose it we were joining some friends that had already booked it. After reading the reviews I have to admit I was a bit worried. Until I started to read posts as ridiculous as "the ship was horrible because the carpet wasn't stretched properly and there were wrinkles"! Yep read it on cruise critic..I think negative people will find anything to feed there need to complain.

 

Did we have a rude staff member on the cruise? Yep we did, a rude bartender did it ruin my cruise? Nope, it gave me an extra $5 to use in the casino lol

Yep there was even a wrinkle in our carpet which we found pretty funny. Bathrooms were different not my favorite but they were nothing to complain about as I had been reading others do.

Food at the buffet we thought was good, not awesome but nothing to complain about..

Shows were great, staff all except the one guy was really nice and helpful. We were amazed at how quiet the rooms actually are, we also experienced some high seas one evening and except for the metal hangers hitting the back of the closet very minimal creaking noises. It was actually kinda fun!

I truly hope anyone thinking of sailing on the Epic and reading reviews experience the ship for themselves and the 99 percent of people will have a great time!

Oh and sorry to those who lost in the casino, that to is my favorite casino so far.

That title intrigued me so I clicked and read all the posts. I then wondered about comments of a single post. So I searched the person's name and sure enough, only the single post. So for comparison I searched another name with multiple posts and was presented with many pages of results. I'm gonna follow this thread to see if OP ever responds. The geek part of me now wants to write a search routine to discover persons with only a single post. Nah, I'm good. Happy cruising all!

Rude staff, kids in the adult zone, no respect for the people getting on board. Special treatment for those getting on at Barcelona port. Got severely ill from the food eaten at the buffet and was stuck in my room for nearly two days. Rooms never cleaned on time, poor service, extra and hidden fees and charges for everything. I repeat do not return! Get your money back if you haven't been on this cruise yet.

 

 

I've exp those highlighted in red all on one cruise, and more.

 

 

As for stories....mentioning them would do no good b/c ppl on CC will either:

 

1. blame it on me, telling me how I deserve such treatment

2. berate me

3. tell me that if I don't like it I should suck it up or leave

4. say I am lying b/c they had great experiences

5. a mixture of 1-4

 

I don't need that kind of aggravation

This intrigues me. I'm running through the boarding process from kerbside to my first beer and struggling to think of anything that resembles a lack of respect. I really wish people would stop making ambiguous comments without any explanation or examples.

 

Rude staff? Over 1700 staff on The Epic, were they all rude? If you take 1700 employees from anywhere in the world, you will not get 100% smiley/happy people.

wow, sounds like you expect perfection? things happen, I have never had any reason to question embarkation other than when it goes to slow for some of us; rude people, too many times, rude staff rarely. Anyone can have a bad day. Cabins not cleaned on time, what is on time and where did you read they are to be cleaned on a certain schedule? Yes, there are times, for those of us who retire early that our turn down service hasn't been done; Big deal or the time when we happen to be the last on the schedule for our steward. Someone has to be last. But when OP posted all negatives and claimed all this happened to him on one cruise, plus never came back I would think anyone reading this would question his motives and truthfullness.

I've been on several cruises before but Norwegian Epic has been THE worst!

I get that totally. I tend to fact check lots of posted stuff and link crazy posters to SNOPES,etc.

 

Just pointing out that you can get the "fact" by looking at their post count in the post header. Same answer as doing a search - just easier.

I've seen people not get slammed, but then they have a reputation or at least provide details, not parachute in to what is effectively a fan page, say vague negative things, advise people never to cruise that line again (remember, fan page) and then leave.

 

If the OP had come in with specific examples of issues, they could be evaluated and people would do so (some would still slam of course, but that's the nature of the internet now).

100% untrue. I am guessing you have not read the entire thread: Read post #43/ Then maybe you will be able to understand why so many have down so hard on the OP. Most of us can understand bad things happen on cruises or anywhere as far as that goes and nothing is 100%. If someone has negatives they should be able to post without getting blasted. But, the post has to be objective and honest. In this case is neither. :rolleyes:
