Hotels in Barcelona

Recommended Posts

Hello, we are cruising on the Symphony next year out of Barcelona, Spain. I would like to spend a few days in Barcelona before boarding the ship. I am looking for hotel recommendations, not necessary close to pier.

Thanks in advance

We like Hotel Jazz. Close to, but not right on Las Ramblas. Close to metro stations. Several restaurants within walking distance.

Another place to check is the Spain forum: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=596

Thank you, our DD (we are taking her with us) mentioned this hotel because she saw it in a youtube video :D. I will also take a look at the link you attached.

I stayed at the Hotel California earlier this year and loved it.

Very close to Las Ramblas. Cheap, clean, no frills, friendly staff and a fully inclusive breakfast bar (which was fairly basic, but given the price, very impressive).

Would happily stay there again.

Our preferred hotels are :

Holiday Inn City 22

Travelodge

Both in Poble Nou. It is near the metro, a local rambla for a good range of restaurants and a short walk from the beach. Doesn't feel as busy or touristy as other parts of the city. Both of our preferred hotels are comfortable to stay in and are reasonably priced.

What is your price range !

What do you want in a hotel , I just need a clean place,

I don't need no pool or spa or restaurant in the hotel

Oh and do watch your back/stuff carefully. A prior post said they never felt at risk but the risk is there and pick pockets are ever present. If you stay a few days you will see someone or something fishy. Just mind your stuff and don't fall for anything tricky and you'll be fine. In other words, be vigilant and don't make the mistake of thinking the warnings are overblown. The city is amazing so enjoy whatever time you have there.

Thank you good advice, since we have never been there
