Very much enjoying your blog. A quick couple of questions:

1. Have you had to have peso's in each port?

2. Can you bring a snack with you for the tours, or do you go through immigration in each port.and 'nothing allowed off the ship? (I will have nuts and bars to bring along for this tour), and bottled water.

3. Does the ship sell peso's at all?

Thanks again for your info.

The ship does not sell pesos.

We picked up somE Chilean Pesos at an ATM. Was rather expensive with about a 16.00 surcharge. Got stuck with some when our last Chilean Port was missed.

Most places took either Dollars or Credit Cards.

In Uruguay today the place we had lunch only too Uruguay Peso. Luckily or friend had picked some up. The also did not accept cc. Later we stopped at a gift shop and the took U S Dollars.

I picked up some Argentine Pesos in Puerto Madryn as we will be staying in Buenos Aires a couple weeks and wanted to have some on hand. In Puerto Madryn on excursions the accepted Dollars at the rest stops and gift shops.

Early Disembarkation in Buenos Aires.

We will be disembarking around 3:00 pm on the fist day in Buenos Aires. We have an apartment rented for a couple weeks and thought it will allow us to prepare for Christmas dinner and avoid the chaos on disembarkation day.

Thanks for the note about departure. We are doing the same cruise in 2019. Based on this information, if we wanted to leave the ship at 5:00 am on the second day in Buenos Aires (your December 23) we are to advise Guest Services of our plan and they will make arrangements for us to clear immigration between 4:00 am and 7:00 am -- this would be prior to the regular debarkation. Is this correct? We would like to catch an 8:00 am flight to the falls.

Thank you for your response.

That is correct from what they have informed us. It will be best to reconfirm once on board.

We had a wonderful day in Punte del Este. This was our final tender port and disembarkation was a bit slow. Due to the location we were tendered it was about 25 minute tender ride into the port. Suite quests were escorted to tenders when we decided to go ashore.

We met some friends at the Famous Hand monument and found a nice local café for a bit of lunch. We had a nice stroll back to the port. We found the town very quiet and sleepy. This may be due to the fact that Christmas is just around the bend and the tourists have not yet arrived. No hassle or bushel and the beaches were sparsely populated.

12/21 - Arrived Montevideo this morning to warm weather (75-80 projection).

The end of the cruise is coming quickly. We will be departing tomorrow on the first day inn Buenos Aires so will have to do some packing tonight. We had some OBC's left over so have been spending it. We paid some additional tips to those that had served us well. We were really disappointed to find that they are unable to keep it individually and must turn it into a pool. To me this isn't fair. I plan on buying somethings as a non-monetary gift to help show our appreciation.

Had a fun day in Montevideo. It is a very clean city with lot of public plazas and beautiful architect. When we first went ashore the weather was rather hot at humid but as the day passed some high clouds moved in and cooled the temperature to a wonderful 75 degrees. We were able to spend both Dollars and Uruguayan Pesos throughout the city.

Thanks you all for coming along for an incredible journey and hope all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We are ending our cruise today but will be in Buenos Aires until January 5.

Buenos Aires is a large industrial port and as of yet we have note even seen the skyline.

Was a pleasure sailing with you. Sorry I didn't get to say goodbye in person to y'all. Enjoy Buenos Aires and hope to sail with you again in the future.

We really enjoyed sailing with you also. It was a great cruise but nice to be in apartment for the next couple weeks. We decided to eat in last night and just kick back.

It would have been nice to hear a little about Buenos Aires. If you are allowed on this blog, can you post anything, i.e.,

how did immigration go.

Sights to see, etc.

Thanks again for your great blog. Happy Holidays!

Immigration into Buenos Aires was a non-event. You collect luggage either personally or via porter. You put luggage on a Security scanning belt, pick it up and walk out of terminal. You don’t even show your passport.

Buenos Aires is a beautiful city. Taxis are plentiful and very inexpensive. Generally taxi rides run about 5-6 Dollars. We used Uber today to get from graveyard of Evita to our apartment in Palermo fo a cost of about 6 Dollars US

Also visited the Pink Palace but be warned extensive renovation on the fencing and grounds are underway.

Jim_lain...meant to ask you if you saw much free WiFi off of the ship? Enjoyed following your trip!

We saw free WiFi in most ports. Some even had a large waiting room with plenty of chairs. Many coffee shops and McD also had free WiFi.

I have TMobile so had free text in all ports. Slowed down speed but worked well.
