Closet appears to be woefully inadequate for a week for two cruisers I'm wondering, too. We will be in YC inside in June. We may just get the laundry package - it looks really reasonable - and bring less clothes. I'm more worried about drawer space when we will have 5 in a YC balcony the following year! Sent from my iPhone using Forums I am pretty sure that you can store your luggage under any cruise ship bed. It'll be fine! But for 4 people - time to decide what's really needed; maybe pack a little lighter lol. That's a lot of people in one cabin. I'd pack as lightly as possible. Anyway... but I have no doubt you can store the suitcases under the beds (well, 2 or 3 - perhaps 4, if they're small).

Closet appears to be woefully inadequate for a week for two cruisers I am thinking maybe to use duffel bags and other collapsible suitcases? Because you'd be able to stow away several under the bed, right? And then, everyone gets 1 drawer and 2 hangers. You could take one of those over the door shoe storage things for shirts and shorts - they should fit in there, if you roll them up. Search Amazon. I bet there are a lot of space-saving items you can buy.
C-sea Posted January 12, 2018 #30 Share Posted January 12, 2018 I don't remember where, but I have experienced platform beds while traveling that didn't allow for underneath the bed storage so I'm looking for confirmation from a cruiser whom has sailed MSC Seaside

OK. The Divina did have normal beds. But I will be quiet and let someone who was there confirm (or deny) :-)
helenb Posted January 12, 2018 Author #32 Share Posted January 12, 2018 When I originally booked our upcoming cruise this March, the YC was full so we booked an Aurea aft suite for 3 people. We were put on an automatic upgrade list if a YC room came open. I happened to be looking last October and all of a sudden, 2 rooms available in YC, both 5 person suites. Called my TA. Of course, we had not been automatically upgraded. Typical MSC. But TA switched us in. I guess they hold these rooms out looking for a 5 person booking but at some point they get released to anyone. So I think you will be ok with 4. Thanks for relating your experience! Right now the YC is sold out for our cruise, so if we cancel the 5th person They won't have anywhere to move us... of course, some people might just cancel at final payment, but I'm hoping that won't impact us. ;)
sanbixby Posted January 12, 2018 #33 Share Posted January 12, 2018 I have been looking for that picture also for the 5 person YC deluxe. If you have a link that would be great. We are only 4 booked in the 5-person suite but will be using the pullman. I find it interesting that video that they released walking through a YC deluxe mock up (the actual room, not a rendering) had bunk beds. but now I'm hearing that none of the YC deluxe rooms have bunk beds. I would like to get the real story. I would love to see an actual photo too as we will be using the pullman when we travel.
Lovetocruise2002 Posted January 12, 2018 #34 Share Posted January 12, 2018 We're in the same boat (ha ha... bad pun)! 2 adults and 2 adult-sized teens booked in a 5-person room. That's why I wanted to see the pics. I'm still debating how to get the fifth 'phantom' person off of our reservation. My TA suggested canceling at the time of final payment. We could keep the phantom on the reservation (it's only about $100 difference, which in my mind is well worth the money to guarantee 2 separate beds for my 2 teens) but I have heard stories of penalties being imposed if you have no-shows (other than no refunds of the cruise fare). Also, since the fifth person is a phantom, we would be unable to complete check-in online before we arrive. If they had the bunk-bed style sofa beds, I wouldn't worry about it and just cancel the phantom child now. But I'm worried that if we cancel that person too early. MSC will move us to a 4-person room and my teens will be sharing a tiny sofa bed... I'm a bit confused...Hubby and I were able to book one of those rooms with just 2 of us. Why did you need a phantom 5th person? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
tcneal Posted January 12, 2018 #35 Share Posted January 12, 2018 We were in the same situation. When we booked there were only 5 person YC deluxe cabins available. And now, YC is all booked for our sailing. There is nowhere to move us. I wouldn't mind the 4 person cabin if there are bunk beds. The policy usually states that they will not move you unless there is a equivalent or upgrade available.

We booked pretty early. MSC would not let us book a 5 person cabin without 5 people. if you only had 2 people, you couldn't book a 4 person cabin. I've never seen that before, but MSC is pretty restrictive about it.

helenb Posted January 12, 2018 Author #39 Share Posted January 12, 2018 The 5 person cabins weren't showing up in my TA's system at all, and they weren't showing up for me on the MSC website unless I had 5 people in the cabin. We booked well over a year in advance, so maybe that was the issue.
suzyed Posted January 13, 2018 #40 Share Posted January 13, 2018 These aren't NCL concierges....to be honest I couldn't figure out what value they did provide as if we asked a question they seemed to try and give the answer that you wanted to hear even if it was wrong. We quickly stopped trying to use them and our cruise experience went up. It was simply faster and more accurate to book a restaurant or show on the screen or app than to waste time at the concierge desk and then have to verify that what they did was done correctly. NCL concierges are AMAZING!
C-sea Posted January 13, 2018 #41 Share Posted January 13, 2018 A few questions... 1. What time of day/night is there live music in the Yacht Club Lounge and Pool area? 2. Are the in-cabin movies complimentary in Yacht Club? 3. Is there decaf espresso/cappuccino in YC restaurant? Have shade umbrellas been added to YC poolside now that she is sailing in the Caribbean? I purchased a personal umbrella that I know is made of sun protection material, I'll give that a try! Thanks in Advance! Still hoping someone whom has sailed on Seaside in YC can answer the remaining questions above

JKCRUISES Posted January 13, 2018 #44 Share Posted January 13, 2018 Arananni from Italy was a server on the on left side of dining room and Edwin from was assistant on right side. Ask to sit in one of their sections if you want great service. We enjoyed dinner and service the 3 times we were seated with them. Last 2 nights we were seated in section where Phillip was server and the service and food were not good on these two occasions. Food was cold , no bread offered, no Parmesan cheese offered on pasta. Drinks were not refilled. We had speciality dining in Asian and Teppanyaki two of the nights. We really enjoyed both of these as well. Buffett at yacht club on pool deck for lunch was great, grilled lamb chops, sirloin steaks, grilled lobster tails, prawns. Made to order pasta. Always a selection of food in the lounge that changes every few hours. We have been on over 20 cruises NCL, Royal, Carnival, Disney, etc. our first on MSC. We would do the yacht club again on MSC. Do we just cross over to the starboard side or have to walk all the way back and around?
