lor74 Posted January 19, 2018 Author #176 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Whatever had me dragging my feet yesterday, has Ro wiped out today [emoji22]. The ship is in full noro lockdown. 3/4 of the buffet area is closed, and it is in full service/no touchy mode. I had a light breakfast and went off the ship. I checked out some of the shops and went for a long walk. Back on board I had a small lunch. We are here until 9:30pm....I might go off again... onisteyez Posted January 19, 2018 #177 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Glad to see Princess taking it seriously. Unfortunately, on our way down to meet our tour, the noro struck. No cenotes for us. My wife says she has just past from the 6th to the 7th level of hell. I am on gingerale duty. Wish I could have given a review of the cenotes. Maybe next time we are in Cozumel. It' going to be a loooonnnng day!

onisteyez Posted January 19, 2018 #180 Share Posted January 19, 2018 We went to sabatinis the second night of the cruise and were disappointed. The menu has changed greatly since we were there last. You get a better seafood selection at the CG! However, the pasta WAS delicious. But would not pay 25pp again just for pasta.
cruzingmissy Posted January 19, 2018 #181 Share Posted January 19, 2018 We went to CG last night. Lots of lobster tails all around, and they looked good, but if with the shell its 6 oz you can't expect much meat. They say you get 1/4 lb of meat for each lb of lobster. I had the filet and was disappointed. While it was good it was not worth the upcharge. One thing that surprised us this cruise is that the steak that used to be available every night in the MDR has been replaced by a burger. At this morning's trivia we were told not to return the pencils due to the norovirus outbreak. I wonder just how many are affected.
Clampram Posted January 19, 2018 #182 Share Posted January 19, 2018 No numbers are being released about the passengers sick with N/V/D other than that they were involved in a group trip to Dunn's River in Jamaica. I don't know that I would hang my hat on that since all of the sick people are also involved in a cruise on the Regal. I am surprised that the news was not given to us until this morning and that no food precautions started until lunch time today......that's not right. Also surprised to see two children under 2 years in the pool this morning with diapers on- that's just disgusting. Sorry to see anyone get sick. So far, we are OK. Have my Pepto in my cabin just in case. Doing the CG tonite and looking forward to that.

Clampram Posted January 19, 2018 #184 Share Posted January 19, 2018 I thought Sabatini's was the same price as the CG. Nope, it is $25.00 pp, we just went to the one here on the Regal 2 nites ago and had an awesome meal with excellent service. We went to Sabatini's on the Crown Princess last week and it was terrible. High degree of variability for the same restaurant. The Crown Princess does not do it right for this restaurant
Happy2cruise Posted January 19, 2018 #185 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Hope the weather clears up. Do you, or anyone else who has sailed the Regal, know if any of the bars on the ship have tv’s to catch some sports?? Sent from my iPhone using Forums If I remember correctly there were tvs in the casino bar and the cigar room. Husband went into the cigar room to check a football score and could not get out fast enough;p

lor74 Posted January 20, 2018 Author #192 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Today has been a quiet one. Ro was in bed for the first half of the day and eventually moved pool side. After a bit of food, she is back in bed. Hopefully she will be better in the morning. I got off the ship twice, and just browsed around. I did some laps in the pool and tried not to over exert myself. I ran into other people from our Jamaica excursion who also got sick. I don't know why they think that excursion was ground zero, or how we could have all been exposed to it. There is local entertainment in the theatre tonight, with 2 early shows. I have been sitting on the balcony for at least an hr. I finished my book and am watching the other ships leave. It was an ok day weather wise, but the wind is chilli and I think this is the coldest it has ever been for us in Cozumel. The smell of diesel in the air is nauseating! Hoping for a warm n healthy sea day tomorrow! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Jimorel Posted January 20, 2018 #194 Share Posted January 20, 2018 As a firm believer in the power of prayer I just said a prayer for everyone on board the Regal to get over this nasty disease. I hope you all recover rapidly and that no new cases crop up.
Rare Waynetor Posted January 20, 2018 #195 Share Posted January 20, 2018 The local culture group did a show at 6 and at 8pm. We went to the 6pm show and there was under a 100 passengers there. Very good show -a sad that Princess goes to the effort and poor attendance compared to production shows. The group has travelled extensively doing shows and won a competition in Toronto. Last night we had bonus comedy show as entertainers that should have left in GC had to stay on while those that were to board had to take a very long route from GC to Cozumel. They are 3 improv troupe members - excellent job and they will do new shows tomorrow. As far as the noro there were hints yesterday - they started enforcing hand wash at the stations entering the buffet area. The grill area also has staff to add ketchup etc to your burgers. On a previous cruise I asked staff how they are impacted by an outbreak - told it adds about 3 hours to their schedule per day. Last month on the Crown I had lunch with the Doctor. I asked what happens to noro passengers once the ship arrives in Ft. Lauderdale. The answer basically was that Princess provides a separate disembarkation process but you have to go and once outside, you are on your own. Hope all those sick now will recover in the next 30 hours or so and will be well enough to travel without making others sick. No official word yet, but for those joining us on Sunday I would not expect the same quick embarkation we have had the last 2 weeks.

Clampram Posted January 20, 2018 #198 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Final cruise day, then we are at HB Marriott and return home on Monday after nearly three weeks and two cruises! Had a great time but I am ready for my own bed. I am also ready to run (not walk!) to Weight Watchers. We've done the gym every day and salad at lunch every day but the extra calories are catching up!

lor74 Posted January 20, 2018 Author #200 Share Posted January 20, 2018 We were both up very early. Ro went to the IC and got me a cappuccino and a chocolatine. I then went to the pool and did a very quick 50 laps. This was followed by breakfast for both of us. There is a chocolate buffet today. It is cool & cloudy. This week has been the coldest cruise we have ever been on! Looking forward to some east Caribbean sun next week!!!
