Can anyone tell me on the Conquest do you have to keep a room key in the socket to use the lights?

Someone said YES...... everyone being saying "NO" The person that said YES was joking......

If you use another card it would keep the lights on so you don't have to keep YOUR CARD in.... which is common sense

 

Question was about the Conquest. You CANNOT use ANY card because one is not required so another card would not keep the lights on—common sense. Person who said yes was wrong and misleading.

no, do you think they have an electric bill? Leaving the lights on cost the ship nothing. Our room steward never touched ours and if he did I would ask him not to touch it.

 

Don't they use fuel to generate electricity?

we used our Sam's Club card, it's a pain to use your room key

 

This works for the safes as well. Any kind of card with a strip. No need to use a license or bank card.

Yes, you need a card on the Breeze. I sailed on the Breeze in January. It was the first time that I didn't have a room mate so I actually liked using my S & S card for the lights because then I never misplaced it. I tend to be a bit scatter brained and am always misplacing hotel key cards, ship cards, etc. Since I didn't have a room mate there was never an issue with someone leaving another person in the dark either.

No. They only started this on the Dream class.

So, yes for Dream, Magic, Breeze.

Yes for Vista, Horizon, and soon to be Panorama.

No on all other ships in the fleet.

The Dream didn't have this system on the 1/28/18 sailing.
