Vaccinations for Russia (St Petersburg only)

We are calling at St Petersburg for 2 days on our cruise later this year and we are trying to find out if we need any vaccinations (advised or mandatory). Can anyone help with this one please?

Mandatory no but I would advise discussing with your physician or better yet with a physician who specializes in international travel.

St. Petersburg is a first world city, but I've been places in Russia that I wouldn't classify as first world. :eek:

From your location I am guessing you are a fellow Brit.

 

The UK Gov travel website will have the info but hardly any European countries need vaccinations.

Not quite about vaccinations but use lots of insect repellent. Were bitten by mosquitos everywhere in the Peterhoff and Catherine Palace gardens. More worryingly my daughter was bitten by a tick on her leg despite wearing long, skinny jeans, socks and sturdy shoes and ended in hospital on our return with Lyme disease. Not quite the souvenir we wanted to return with!

I think I drank tap water at St. Petersburg, but it may have been followed by Russian vodka, so I didn't get sick! ;p
