Panorama- Starting off in the Med??

Has anybody heard if the Panorama will kick off the cruises in the Med, like the others have? I heard a rumor that it won't. Just wondering if there has been any kind of announcements on this or if it's too early.

I heard they are not going to do the Med. More info to be released in March.

The ship is due to Carnival on October 31, 2019, so fall/winter sailings in the Mediterranean are pretty much a non-starter.

It was stated on another thread, that JH said there would be no TA.

 

A poster (Hi Mary) stated speculation on her part. Suez Canal to Singapore maybe. I could add to that, then to Australia or New Zealand, since it will be Spring there. It could then do a Hawaii stop, or straight to Long Beach.

Surprised. Usually they keep the ships near where they were built for a bit in case of unexpected problems.

I would have thought likewise but as someone mentioned above' date=' with a delivery date in late Fall of 2019, that doesn't make a series of Med itineraries, immediately after delivery, very attractive.[/font']

True bit if this was me placing an order worth a few billion would tell them ok but will take delivery and pay for it in May.

 

Makes me wonder if they have not done all that well with their previous Med cruises.

Yeah, maybe recent Med cruises following delivery (Vista, Breeze, etc.) haven't sold well; Carnival quit doing Europe altogether several years ago except for those post-delivery itineraries. Oh well, there are other cruise line options for Europe. :)
