shopperbd Posted March 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2018 We are taking the princess cruise to the British isles from Paris. Just wondering how far from the airport and what airport do you fly into? Thanks Bonnie
Rare mom says Posted March 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2018 Where are you flying from? If the US, then you'd fly into CDG in Paris. You'd likely want to arrive a few days early to explore the city and get over jet lag. Then take the train. (about 2 1/2hours) to Le Havre, and a taxi to the port. CruiserBruce Posted March 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2018 Probably need to clarify this...Paris is a long way from any port a Princess ship can get into. Are you doing pre-cruise or post cruise days in Paris? Are you talking about stopping at Le Harve on your cruise and getting into Paris for the day? If you are sailing out of Southampton, probably your first choice is to fly into London.
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2018 Yes, please provide some information. There are a few ports that serve Paris but they are not in Paris. Keith
Rare mom says Posted March 24, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2018 AFAIK Princess has 1 itinerary that embarks in LeHavre for a UK cruise. They advertise it as a Paris/le Havre/Normandy to UK round trip. I assume that's the one she's talking about.
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 25, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2018 I believe the drive time from Le Havre to Paris is about two and one half hours. Keith
SRF Posted March 25, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 25, 2018 And has been stated, if you fly from the US to France, you will fly into CDG outside of Paris (technically in Roissy). You could fly into other French airports if you fly first to another European international airport, such as London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Brussels, etc. or even fly into CDG and then change planes to the other French airports. CPT Trips Posted March 25, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 25, 2018 We docked in Honfleur on a river boat. I didn't realize it was a large enough port to handle a cruise ship.

I very mu ch enjoyed strolling around. Many on the ship did tours to Paris and oh so many did many hours long tours to D-day beaches I think one of our times to Honfleur was during a major A nniversary year of D-day
