More fake service dog nonsense

Recommended Posts

Except for discussing my mental condition, we're pretty much on same page.

Pets don't belong on a cruise ship, restaurants, or grocery stores. [emoji6]

And truthfully, I've never had a bad experience with a dog on a cruise ship.

I have however, had issues with rude adults and misbehaving children

I'm on your side John.

We love Bella and although it must be hard being away without her you are right in your summary that ships are not a place for dogs.

We have never seen a dog on any of our 46 cruises.

Because most of us never post.

Welcome me to cc as it’s my first post.

It’s your kind of nonsense that keeps me off of cc. And why cruising has become annoying. Consider me one of the 99.9% silent majority who is sick of attention seeking dog owners.

You claim that, "It's your kind of nonsense that keeps me off of cc." Yet, it was his post that got you to join and his post that you chose to quote in your first post.

BTW - welcome to Cruise Critic.

It would get shut down. I really don't bring her out until a thread goes off the rails or questions my sanity

I'm pretty well adjusted and I put an outfit on Bell every now and then.

Especially during football season.

Oh no, I'm feeling the need to draw attention to myself again.

Massive applause for this. I - and I would imagine many more - totally agree with you:D:D but also won't comment because the CC big hitters will wade in and it's really not worth the hassle of disagreeing with them and their cronies/admirers

Unfortunately some people have such big egos that comments such as yours will always fall on stony ground

Well, at least no one has been called a dog hater.

The line between ocean liner and cruise ship is very blurry.

Still out for a discussion?

Actually you are wrong again, the line is sharp as can be.

Queen Mary 2 is an Ocean Liner, and the rest are cruiseships.

All other Ocean liners are not active anymore in serving as liners

As we are now nitpicking (and apparently you seem to enjoy that), Queen Mary 2 is not a cruiseship*

Yes, we have been on her (infact we just left from her 2 days ago) and I am sure that you are aware, that the dogs and cats are not allowed anywhere else than deck 12( however we have seen people breaking that rule, too) .

* QM2 is a liner.

I didn't see where he called it a cruise ship

Again..

Anyone who dresses up their dog and treats it like their child and insists on taking it places where it has no business being is not well adjusted. People who let their dog defecate at guest services and then walk away are not well adjusted. People who let their dogs eat from other pax plates and don't apologize for it are not well adjusted and are extremely self centered and selfish

All of the above were mentioned in this thread. Can you give me arguments that those above mentioned actions are ok? Are acceptable?

Good parents get babysitters when needed

Good parents put diapers on their babies

Good parents don't let their babies put their hands in other diners dinner plates

I've never seen any of those things.

And again, I am not advocating bringing a dog on the ship.

I really don't see how I've become the poster child of bringing dogs onboard

Let’s don’t. There are lots of dog forums where John&LaLa can go share all the dog pictures they want. And I’m sure there are Balcony Forums where they can share Balcony pictures.

If we are casting votes I’ll cast mine for “attention seeking” and I’ll back that up with the fact that after being asked to stop “they” only did it more and argued it wasn’t annoying.

Pug sighting in Sandbar tonight. They must like Fish Tacos. It's not just cruise ships.

QM2 is only a part time liner, correct.

QE2 is a hotel, and that makes me sad.

Totally agree.

I'm one who lurks and hasn't posted in a long time. CC has changed since I joined in 2006. I know many posters who don't post much anymore because of some of the reasons noted above.

What happened to threads staying on topic? I see many that morph into personal chatter but are allowed to continue. Posted pictures, comments and replies should relate to the thread topic. Cruise Critic is not an entertainment forum like some have made it to be. CC has a section called Friends of Cruise Critic where you can start threads and talk about whatever you want. Maybe that would be a good place to chat and post pictures.

I know I can scroll by a thread or posts but many times there's good information buried in amongst the drivel.

All work and no play makes CC a dull place. Pictures break up all the Tipping, shorts in Main Dining, Dog on Ship and "Butter Fish" threads. This from someone that's been on Cruise Critic(AOL's CC) for now 20+ years... Tell Bella I said, "Woof, Ruff"

Well the last two posts epitomized what so much of CC is all about.

Redsoxfan you put it so well. Unfortunately the mods don't seem prepared to move off-topic stuff to the floataway lounge and the know-alls just say move on if you don't like a thread

I was watching a thread a few months ago which kept wandering off-topic and when i commented on that had a smart a** comment suggesting I move on

And onecruiser - if you enjoy that stuff good for you but that doesn't mean we all want it. Its supposed to be a forum about RC after all

You have the ability to block posters that you find problematic.

Not sure I posted a pic from balcony on this thread, but if you say so.

Posted dog pics, because this is a thread about dogs.

Welcome back to the fold

Mmmmm, butterfish.

I think the first time I posted a picture of Bell was when someone on a thread typed something hateful.

So I had that pic of her frowning and said "Bell is not amused"

It got a laugh and calmed down the tension.

The Queen Mary 2 is used as a cruise ship most of the year, and as an ocean liner part of the year. As I said, the line between the two is very blurry.

I post on a couple of floataway lounge threads which are always pleasant.

Incidentally your post count does not increase with posts on floataway lounge threads.

Bobal - Your post is a little confusing. The post before your has a picture of a dog. The post before that encourages more dog photos. Yet you say Redsoxfan put it so well. Redsoxfan does not want to see dog photos.

So which is it???

I vote for more Bella photos.

Live 15 miles south and never on the same cruise.

:-)

Dog did defecate on the EN in the casino when it was in PC.

I knew the smell and got up to go tell CS, when I saw the cordoned off area near the ladies restroom.
