I'm about 200 feet from the ship now, on the tender. Wifi is working, even out here. IMG_20180530_145840680.thumb.jpg.f012a972d08fa13ecb8ced7259914a37.jpg

I'm going to shower off the salt water right quick once I'm back on board, and I will throw down my day for you...

Sorry, I didn't get any pictures at the snorkeling site or stingray city. I have a water proof bag to put my phone in, but I just didn't have the huevos to actually get in the water with it... More like, I can't afford to replace my phone at the moment...

Eagle? Platypus?

Sitting out on the balcony drinking a hot, black, dark roast coffee before I get in the shower... Sorry, no real pictures of my day in Grand Cayman. I basically went from the tender pier, and five minutes later I was on a bus to the marina, where we boarded the boat to stingray city and two other snorkeling sites.

There were no more seats when I boarded, so I sat shotgun next to the driver.

Here's the boat we went out on today.

So, other than the couple of stingray shots I took from the boat, that's all I've got as far as that goes...

The highlight of the tour was swimming with and handling the graceful rays themselves. I was even able to "catch" and handle several on my own, away from the crowd. Truly a great experience if you've never done it. They're like giant, slick kittens rubbing up against you as they swim by.

When they dropped us off back in George Town, I headed out on foot to one of my local, secret haunts. Singh's Roti.

I had the goat curry dhalpurie roti. You have to be careful eating it, because of the sharp bones. But, if you've never had a real taste of the West Indies, give it a try.

Afterwards, I walked back towards the tender pier to the sight of a long, long line...

Now, I am a stickler for rules, and I deplore line breakers. But, I was more strategic than just blatantly trying to cut in. There are public restrooms at the terminal that are right next to the gate where they check your cruise card. I made a b-line for the restroom, and did my business. I did really need to go. Upon exiting, I stood there for a minute, and the guard said to go, and keep the line moving. I complied with his command, and 60 seconds later I was on the tender.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm not really sure how good the fun times would turn out with my crappy phone.

Sid, Awesome posts. The chef's table looked AMAZING!

I'll be on the Horizon 2 weeks from today. I think it's the exact same ship. Can't wait.

Random question, if you have the time: Are there any decks that are open at night that are away from the lights of the main decks? I'm an avid stargazer (hence my screen name) and want to find a good, dark spot. If you happen to come across anything, let me know but don't go out of your way.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I would imagine the so called secret decks all the way forward would be the best place. I believe it is pretty dark there due to the navigation area.

We were debating whether to go there or Vera's or Pepper's. Have you tried the others?

I haven't been to either one of those, but the roti place was good. I like authentic, non tourist places, and Singh's fit the bill.

Well, thanks to you fine people, we just exceed 20,000 views! I am truly humbled by all of your comments and complements.

I'm debating whether I should even bother dressing up for the MDR tonight, knowing I'll likely be there alone again at that huge table.

I think I'm going to try out the seafood shack, even though it costs additional, and I have a big spending day in Cozumel tomorrow.

Again, thank you all so much for making it this far. If you send me your address I will mail you a Christmas or Hanukkah card...

Really enjoying following along. You have been doing a outstanding job with your live review. Thanks!
Shucks, I'm not used to this much attention... I wish I could afford to cruise again before my next sailing in December.
