Status of Ocean Medallion?

We will be on the CB later this year and it will be fun to see if ***** is working and how well it is working. Once they figure out all the problems with installing it on a metal ship with metal walls, doors etc it will be great. You must crawl before you can walk.

Not sure if you read the post from around June 30th, but it turns out most of last rounds problems were how cruisers used the the card and what the ideal range of the ***** needed to be

As I said earlier, M201 is not a medallion stateroom unless additional staterooms have been added to the original 110 Medallion rooms. I somehow deleted part of my original message, however and provided bad info on the rest of the Marina deck Medallion staterooms. The correct Marina deck Medallion staterooms are, or at least originally were M203, 206-212, 214-239, 241, & 243. 36 in total. There were another 36 on the Lido deck, 36 on the Baja deck and 2 on the Caribe deck for a total of 110.

I understand that you’re saying that M201 on the Regal Princess is not a medallion cabin. I have a picture of the outside of the cabin showing a Meallion screen up and running. I cannot post it here because I do not have an account for Tapatalk.

If this is truly working completely on the Caribbean Princess at the end of August and on the Regal Princess at the end of November, I will be shocked and amazed. This is what I was told. Do not hold me to it. My medallion is iffy at times for opening our door and I sometimes have to use my card. I will be taking it in for service. I have not tried to use it in the casino and I have not tried to make a purchase with it except in the laundry where it worked perfectly for tokens.

We have one of the current ***** cabins on the Regal, later this year.

It would be nice if ***** was actually fully up and running. Might be kind of cool.

Just have to figure out how to use all of it, the apps, etc. OMG!!!

Anyhow, this seems to be more chatter that indicates that they might have figured out one of the big 'glitches', and could get this thing running.

If we have WIFI, which I am hoping we will, due to our Captain's Circle, we should be able to text back home, directly, without having to use one of those messenger services, right. We don't use any of those services. So, that would be nice.

It depends on what kind of text messages you use. On my iPhone, if they are the green text messages, it cost me $.50 to send one of those from the ship while at sea. If they are the blue text messages, then it is no charge for me to use them since I have the Internet. You need to speak with your cell provider for your phone.

You are on the Regal, right?

Remember that no ***** work has been done on her since her trans-Atlantic last spring. All the

experimentation, range-tuning, and fixing has been happening on Caribbean since then.

Then it is possible that more staterooms have been added to the original 110 staterooms.

My sister and I will run around the shipthis week and note all the cabins with the screens. We don’t see anymore that I have previously known.

We do have iPhones... and the blue or green text boxes apply.I don't see any reason why testing with WIFI wouldn't work????

But, anyhow... I suppose only time will tell... I am no expert about whether this will default to WIFI when it is there.

Maybe we will make sure we are hooked up with one those apps after all !!!

We too are supposed to be in one of those cabins, similar to the cabin number mentioned by the other poster.

And, by most accounts, yes, that block of cabins is supposed to be *****. I am going on the assumption that this is the case. Even if it might not have been the case earlier, when the one other post was onboard.

And, I am also going to assume that it is true that there is a difference between here, and Northern Europe, which is why any updating and fixes for the Regal are on hold while she is sailing there. With all of the chatter, I am crossing my fingers and hoping that they have now made real progress fixing the major glitch (glitches) !

I didn’t experience any issues when sending or receiving SMS and MMS messages (to non-iPhone users) in addition to voice calls and iMessages while on the Regal Transatlantic in April.

I had WiFi Calling enabled on a Verizon iPhone X and there weren’t any surprise charges from Cellular@Sea or international roaming charges.

Thank you for your first hand post.

If "Wishing..." has verizon, she's all set. Otherwise, if she posts her carrier, I'm sure others will have first hand

experience that they can share.

Did you take it in for service? After all the work put in findings the right range for the *****, I'm wondering if maybe a one size fits all model might be a reach. If you took it in, what did they do?

Wish we could trade places, I have to wait till next April. ;)

All ***** work ceased on Regal when she left for the Baltic. The ***** folks moved over to Caribbean,

and have reportedly made significant progress on the "door issue" in the last 3 months.

:: ponders ::

Or maybe it was their replacements.

Maybe a team is working the CB, but it is IMHO the Regal is the current target for actually integrating *****. Many have posted they are on the ship with *****. Those on CB are posting only crew trial/testing activity. It has been reported there is even a Service center set up on the Regal for *****. Per what I was told on the Ruby in June (see my report on this 6/30 or so on this thread) Regal is being used to integrate ***** in phases. Unless I am mistaken, members have posted they're receiving OMs prior to Regal sailings right now going back into July.

Why the doubts?

I’m booked on the Caribbean Princess in December. I’m on the Baja deck and from this thread, it appears that some of the Baja rooms are *****? How would I know if my room is?

Note that we didn’t actually choose this cabin. We were auto-upgraded into it.

No "doubts". I was merely pointing out to `megs1954` that any lack of observed progress aboard

Regal was not indicative of a lack of progress on ***** in general.

BTW, I also have no doubts about there being current Regal pax receiving Medallions in the mail

nor about there being an ***** service center aboard Regal. There are 110 staterooms in the *****

pilot aboard Regal still operating, right?

What kind of service do you think they can do on a RFID chip embedded in plastic other than replace

it with a different-ranged RFID chip embedded in a different chunk of plastic? Did I miss something?

Number rooms, I have no idea. All indications are the Regal is being integrated with *****. The statement that gets me is work stopped on the Regal on ***** before going to the Baltic. You and others have stated this as fact many times and just does not appear to be true. Again on ***** and service center, read the posts. First hand posts and you claim different. Regal passengers have said they received their ***** before the cruise in the mail I presume. Could be FedEx, UPS, pick your poison and yet you still say you don't believe them. Yet we are supposed to take your posts as gospel. Please try and at least look at these other posts and not pooh pooh other first hand posters.

Hi Babs! I'm actually in already. Haven't stopped in, in awhile.

Hello bonagrad...We have set up a spread sheet with activities and would like everyone who has posted in the roll call to let the organizers know if you are or not interested. If you could visit the sheet and indicate with a "0" it would be most helpful

There is an ***** service center on Regal on deck 6. I did not receive my Medallion until I checked in to the ship. I was told on a call before the cruise that they are not mailed for European cruises.

Ours were not mailed to us for this European cruise.
