We are new to cruising have been on Disney back in January. Which Carnival ships would you recommend? Looking for the most kid friendly ship for age 3 and 5 year old. Not wanting a party seen. Looking for updated and modern. TIA

Most of the Carnival ships are great for kidlets of that age... the party scene is more a factor of the length of cruise- it seems that 3 or 4 night cruises tend to lean more towards the 'booze cruise' theme than 5 or 7 night cruises...

I also have to agree though that the Breeze is a great ship for a family! Also, the Family Harbor cabins on the Vista and Horizon are great for little ones.

Well, The Vista Class ships are what I would recommend. They are the newest and great for kids. However, you're asking about Carnival but you don't want a party scene? What does that mean? You want the truth? Take your kids on the new MSC Seaside. Best price around, stunning new ship, and their pools and water park are great. Seaside out of Miami ..... my to young daughters loved it in April. It doesn't have the loud drunkeness that you seem to be wanting to avoid as well.

We also caught the bug from a Disney cruise...but the price point sent us to carnival. Our first voyage will be in a family harbor suite on horizon. The room set up seems similar to the deluxe family room on disney... but the price was about 1/3 what DCL was charging for a similar trip/date.

We started sailing with our sons when our youngest was about the age of your oldest. They are 15 and 19 now. We have done a couple of short but mostly 7 night cruises during summer and spring break. And even with all of that we have NEVER run into any party scene. Not to say we couldn’t find some loud drunks but only if we went somewhere you’d expect to find them. In the casino or hanging out at the bars. Not places we frequented with our kids so no issues.

Larger ships have more “stuff” obviously but for kids that young I don’t think they are a must. Anything with a Waterworks which most have now. The kids clubs are great in all classes.
