CMFLOURNOY Posted January 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2019 Are there any other cruise lines other than Norweign cruise line that offer Free Style Dining. Thank You Charles...
Rare broberts Posted January 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2019 (edited) All major cruise lines offer something similar under different names. This forum is intended for questions related to website usage. I would suggest posting future cruise related questions in https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/498-ask-a-cruise-question/. paul929207 Posted January 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2019 I think all the mainstream lines offer some form of anytime dining.
navybankerteacher Posted January 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2019 “Free Style” is simply NCL’s brand name for anytime dining - which is an option offered by all lines. The interesting thing, however, is that NCL does not offer the option for assigned dining at all - so it really is not “your way” at all, it is NCL’s way. marco Posted January 8, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2019 I think NCL is only line that offers ONLY "free style/anytime" dining. Pretty much every other mainstream line offers it as an option.
cb at sea Posted January 8, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2019 Other lines call it "My time dining" or "Anytime dining", or "At your leisure dining"..... so you do have the option on almost every cruise line nowadays.

Rare MicCanberra Posted January 9, 2019 #8 Share Posted January 9, 2019 Lots of the mass lines offer a form of freestyle dining but they are popular and can book out.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 9, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 9, 2019 Welcome to Cruise Critic. On Holland America it is called "Open Seating".

At least most of the other lines offer a real choice - traditional or whatever they call their version of flexible dining - and not limiting it to how the cruise line wants to do it. We actually prefer traditional dining. It feels more like an event than just going to any restaurant whenever we feel like it. At home, when we go out for dinner it is no different than "free style" on a ship. Which makes dining "free style" on a cruise no more special than at home. We like it to be more special than that. Where as we like the freedom to dine whenever we like, it can be either before or after a show or a particular musician in a bar. Late in a port, no issues with getting to an early seating on time or being too ravenous at the late seating.
