Yes to the OP!!! It is driving me crazy. I can't afford to book right now, and it is killing me! Even though I have a week at the beach coming up in July in a place I consider heaven on earth, it just is not the same excitment that comes with anticipating a cruise. I am so depressed..Carnivals fault... oops, wrong thread again.

I love the Royal Caribbean theme song "Here comes Johnny...". Once when we were booked on them, I was singing along with the commercial and my teen told me what the song was about. I can't believe they made that their theme song. The lyrics are somewhere over on that board.

 

When you take into account the song's title is "Lust For Life" it makes more sense. Music selection for marketing is usually based on a song's title or or a an appropraite "catchy phrase".

Believe me, the Carnival commercials are twice as painful when you have TiVo, and you find it necessary to stop, pause, and replay them two or three or nine hundred times. Before you know it, you've got a cramp in your remote control thumb as well as an irritated spouse who wishes you'd just let her get back to her show. :D

Actually, it's Martin Luther King JUNIOR who was a great man. AFAIK, the only wonderful thing Martin Luther King did was become a daddy and do a good job raising him.

Since I am cruising soon I smile while I watch them....If no cruise is booked I start thinking "must book"..

 

So....It seems these ads are somewhat "Stepford Wives" in nature....

I find that I have to run into the room every time I hear the words somewhere beyond the sea. It does make life difficult! I love that my 75 year old mom will say something like we'll be there in December...Or there we are on our ship! Each time the commercial comes on too. :)

I can't take it anymore!!! No matter what I'm doing, cooking dinner, unloading the dishwasher or folding laundry that commercial seems to come on. At first I'm memorized torn away from what I'm doing staring at the screen in awe, then it hits me I don't have a damn cruise booked & all I want to do is throw what ever is in my hand at the screen !!!Anyone else feel like this?

no way i luv luv this commercial!!! everytime i hear the song or see the commercial i get so excited! Its like a little reminder to me that in 3 and a half months ill be sailing away to stand on golden sands! i always nudge my husband and get all giddy and weird like a little kid when that commercial comes on. its my first cruise so i guess thats why its so exciting to me.

i found your links to your videos on another thread and i was thoroughly amused. i literally had to go through everyone of them cuz they were so entertaining. it got me so excited for my first cruise. they should make youre vidoes part of a carnival campain or something. lol the camera luvs you guys. i want to convince my husband to use gatorclaw to make one of our own after our cruise. seems like itd be kind of confusing though.

Well, I have 33 pounds to go before I can even think of booking another cruise. DH promised me a gift of a cruise if I was successful in losing the weight (which he was probably hoping he would never have to deliver on -- but I will show him!).

 

Every time that commercial comes on, or the RC one for that matter, it is like the treat dangling on the stick for me and the only encouragement I need to stick to my diet!

Gatorclaw - Loved your commercial. In RI we have a little problem - the local casino also plays "Beyond the Seas" to advertise its new bar. So I get all excited and go to the TV and Voila - a commercial for Lincoln Downs!:mad:

Last night was my first time ever seeing American Idol. My kids had it on while I was doing some work on the computer in the same room.....When that guy sang "Beyond the Sea" I immediatly thought of Carnival and my cruises and then I thought about this thread and had to laugh as I pictured Cruise Critic folk all around the nation with their heads whipping toward the tv!!
