THartman Posted February 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2019 Does anyone know the code for the symbols indicated for each room number? For example, our room on an upcoming cruise has a circle and a triangle. Adjoining? Third person room?
Rare POA1 Posted February 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2019 Open circle is a triple. Open triangle is a partial ocean view. Inverted solid triangle is a an accessible room.
sevenseasnomad Posted February 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2019 Circle represents triple passenger capacity, and triangle is partially obstructed view. Hope this helps.
dockman Posted February 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2019 = 2 lower beds, 1 sofa = 2 lower beds, 1 sofa, 1 upper = 2 lower beds, convert to queen = Connecting staterooms = Double (no sofa bed) = Fully obstructed view = Partial sea view = Porthole windows = Shower only = Solid steel verandah rails = Tub and shower = Wheelchair accessible with sho
Rare kazu Posted February 9, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2019 There is a key to all the codes on the deck map. If you scroll down you should be able to see it. (If you have expanded the PDF to see the rooms more clearly, you will need to get it back to regular size and then expand to read the key codes). oops - Dockman was nice enough to copy it and post it for you while I was typing. rkacruiser Posted February 9, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2019 Once upon a time when brochures with deck plans were more readily available, the OP would not have needed to ask this excellent question.
THartman Posted February 9, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted February 9, 2019 Thanks, everyone. The key only shows up on the .pdf download, not the screen.

I was going to comment that there is always a legend on the deck plans that show what the symbols mean.

How true. At least Princess still offers that. Just got a copy of their Destinations 2018 2019, and the book has complete deck plans for every ship in the fleet. Felipe45 Posted August 16 #11 Share Posted August 16 (edited) This is an old topic, but a good one. For HAL ships, I was wondering what those gray plus signs or cross symbols (+) shown on the outside some of the Veranda staterooms (with balconies) meant, thinking that it might have indicated a partial obstruction from lifeboat machinery. That initial guess was incorrect. On closer view of the .pdf diagrams, I can now see that that just happens to be the only one symbol to be displayed outside (besides the lifeboats), because the it has to do with the division in-between two rooms. The marking inside a stateroom would probably not be clear as to exactly which staterooms could be connected to which. Also, if one looks closely, they can see a little doorway drawn in-between the connecting rooms. Maybe I figured this out before(!), and just forgot(?), but maybe by posting I will remember and help others wondering the same thing. julia Posted August 16 #12 Share Posted August 16 The outside symbols indicate cabins that have a connecting door....
