Is it " normal" to have CD change midcruise-INDY JAN 25TH

Never really mind that much about the CD on a cruise-UNLESS they are really bad. It was strange though to have ours change mid cruise on our 6 night Indy 25th 6 night cruise. It was planned-because the CD announced it on the Love and Marriage game.

Must have been easier/cheaper for that person to fly home from that city.

Yes it's normal. Just got off Liberty and the CD is changing ships in Cozumel because his new assignment is also there that day so RCI will have no transportation costs getting him to the other ship. He simply walks across the pier.

While I would not say it is "normal" but not unheard of for any number of reasons.  End of contract, switching ships, going to a group CD Powwow in Miami, etc.

14th cruise for me- my first Switch of CD. Seemed weird.

It was the CD annual meeting in Miami.

Yes, there was a CD meeting in Miami and the assistant CD took over.  We had him (Daniel) the whole time on the following cruise.  He. Is. Hilarious.   We really enjoyed his quick wit and energy.

Another ship needs CD, now. Have seen them leave and Assistant CD takes over. Even watched it on one of those behind the scenes of a Royal ship.

I am so confused. Are you saying it happened on another ship you went on as well? I thought someone said assistant CD steps in?

Ship I was on CD was needed on another ship, left my ship. Assistant CD stayed on my ship and took over. As said saw same on TV Documentary

We were on this cruise. Agree that Daniel was a little more UPBEAT. Jamie did put on a Hilarious 70's party in the promenade.

Jamie left to go to the CD conference in Miami for a week, with Daniel taking over while he was away. Jamie should be back on Indy now.
