I first sailed with Captain van Zaane on Rotterdam V in 1996, Seward to Vancouver.

Thanks Copper John!  Great pictures!  I never had the honor of sailing when Captain Bos was at the helm, but I have sailed with others who did and also shared their good memories about him as I have with Captain van Zanne.

 

Visiting Rotterdam V during my VOV cruise was one of the most significant events during that cruise for me.  I was on the Rotterdam VI during that cruise.  As we sailed by Rotterdam V en route to the sea, we exchanged whistle salutes.  It brought tears to my eyes.
