I doubt that anybody in Crown Grill would be checking to see if a coupon is linked to a booking. More likely that they would just accept it and that would be the end of things. However, I have no real life experience in this matter.

Yet😉

Even if no one in Crown Grill checks, that doesn't necessarily mean that it would be the end of things. They may need to submit the charge and coupon to the purser's office for accounting, and someone there may see that the coupon isn't valid for you. You won't know until you check your folio several days later.

I doubt we will eat at a specialty venue anyway. We have been singularly unimpressed the times we have done so and there is way too much food for us. My initial query was more in the way of a rhetorical question to see if anybody had experience with the situation.

The Bogo for first night specialty restaurant is worthless to those in a suite who get that dinner included in their suite fare.

So share it with someone not in a suite....like us!

LOL

It's now for a bottle of wine with specialty restaurant dining on the first night.

I know...I have that coupon already...we've used it before.  The funny thing is  the HW will give a look of surprise!  They don't really know about it.  It's a bit of a hassle for a very mediocre wine!  LOL!

We missed out on coupon book offering on a couple of cruises  last year and when I saw that our booking for a couple of upcoming cruises (Saturday Sept 23 is first) I started trying to find out what  I needed to know. I do know that if they are not downloaded prior to boarding, they are gone. I went on Princess Chat and asked. After about 30 minute chat it was determined that the "chat" person didn't have a clue. The chat ended with, "I am sure that it can be taken care of aboard the ship, if you don't get them by them". I now see that our daughters, who will be going with us, also received the books and have not received the email. I will bring the chat print out and time will tell. For the record, I don't think there is much in the books now. There used to be much better offers IMHO

Hesitant about free $10 casino for $20 spent. Last time, I did something like that, it was a fiasco

How so? I load $$ on at a slot machine, head to the cage, cashier loads $10 free play, and off I go .... to lose.  Truth be told I wound up $65 one time but that was after losing all the free play & another $100.

I figure how much I'm willing to lose, load that, when it's gone it's gone

I've never done it but plan to give it a try on our upcoming cruise. An extra $10 to lose along with the losses I will already be incurring can't hurt!

I did it on our last back to back: won $400 first leg, $700 second leg.
