Dat Cruisin Couple Posted May 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2019 We are less than a week away from our cruise to Bermuda and already looking ahead to our next cruise. Found a sweet deal in December and wondering people's opinion on whether we should book it now ourselves, have an agent to do it or book it while we are on the ship next week. Is the switching worth the trouble for the OBC and other perks(we will make Diamond on this cruise)? Decisions, decisions, decisions. 🙂
njkruzer Posted May 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2019 (edited) Switching is easy. Go to faq, put in transfer and website comes. Fill in the blanks. Must do before final payment, within 60 days of booking and a certain number of days before sailing. I'm sure will in the correct number of days. Enjoy whatever you do. Edited May 24, 2019 by njkruzer Correct spelling.

Kinda depends what perks the TA offers. Biker, who transfers to TA if there's at least $50 in perks.

oddly excitered Posted May 24, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2019 Do your research & know what you want and what it will cost. Then check prices on board. We were on anthem in feb and I had one picked out room and all. We had booked our anthem cruise through a big box site and with the knowledge of what I wanted went to next cruise. They offered the sailing at hundreds less than I had seen anywhere else and threw in onboard credit. after I got home the big box sent me a notice saying the booking had been transferred to them and gave me more perks on top of it without me doing anything.

Ourusualbeach Posted May 24, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 24, 2019 Check with several travel agents to see if they have group space....can save hundreds if not thousands of $ depending on the cruise.
not-enough-cruising Posted May 24, 2019 #9 Share Posted May 24, 2019 I always book through a site where TA companies bid on your business. Always pay less than the RCI advertised rate, and get a reasonable amount of OBC as well as other benefits from time to time.
