What happened to Bermuda??

My wife and I used to take a week in September nearly every year (usually the second week in September) and cruise to Bermuda. We've been there (or attempted to) four out of the last five years.

We were thinking about doing it again this year, but there are no ships from NCL heading to Bermuda for a seven night cruise in September!!

Why did NCL stop doing these cruises??

September is peak hurricane season, so NCL have decided to schedule the ships to go to Canada & New England during this time.  There are options the first week of September and they resume the second week of October.

Ships sailing out of NYC this Fall are doing mainly Canada/New England in Sept - the peak weeks/month for hurricane along the East Coast - not necessary a bad idea, then return in October for an extended Fall to Bermuda thru almost mid November (with some shorter 5 days ... but, #cough #cough, 4 days ... no thanks, IMHO)

Yea.  First week of Sept last year we had a beautiful cruise Boston to Bermuda.  On return, the boarding guest found out that when the ship sailed again that afternoon, they would be going to Canada  instead of Bermuda.  Hurricane

No, probably not an hurricane … it's been normal for several years that ships go to NE and Canada instead of Bermuda for about a month in Sept and then return to Bermuda for another month until end of season.

Yes, Sept is a peak hurricane month for Bermuda (the direct hit ones occurred during the month of Sept but we've had a couple in October), BUT it's Fall Colours season in NE and Canada in Sept.

This was definitely hurricane.  The ship was booked for more runs to Bermuda, including that afternoon.   It was hurricane Florence.   Fortunately, it did swing south of Bermuda only creating storm and wave conditions instead of being damaging level.
