Best Celebrity cabin for three people on Eclipse or Solstice class ships.

Any idea on best cabins for three adults ?  We have always traveled with two adults in one room an a group of three kids in another room, but now we need three adults in a room, and two adults in another room, Two will be Elite and another a gold level member in one room. Will be joined by one gold member and one cruise newbie in their separate cabin. We should be able to make it work but any tricks, tips or words of advice to make it easier for three adults in a room and the most effiecent most of the space is greatly appreciated. If you have a tip to help us three in a cabin, it would be much appreciated.

We love the Eclipse.   We go with a balcony cabin and have found the best cabin is on the hump.   Many of those cabins have quite large balconies and the cabins are at the middle of the ship, which makes it more convenient as well as better in case of rough seas.

Once we sailed with our adult son in a concierge class cabin on Silhouette. The balcony was a big help as it is kind of a separate room and eases the feeling of being crowded. Another hint is book a room near a public bathroom as your balcony room will have only one bath even if you choose a smaller suite. That nearby bathroom can come in handy. Actually  a suite is probably the best way, most comfortable way to go, but cost has to be considered. But a suite will get you some attractive extra benefits.

Whenever we travel S class with our teenage son we always book a cabin on the slant of the hump as the large balcony provides a lot of extra space.  In case you are not aware, the cabin itself, though, is not any larger than any other cabin in the same "category."  I have read on other threads that the first and third cabins off the hump have the largest balconies if that helps any.  Have a great cruise!!  ☺️

I would consider a family veranda since there are two bedrooms - unfortunately they sell out very fast since there are only 4 per ship.

Like SilverySeasCruiser advises,  if you can upgrade to a suite then you do get more space. CS and above have separate lounge areas with a sofa bed and are well designed to take an additional adult. Unfortunately some of the perks that come with it (suite dining room and lounge)  your other party members would not be allowed to access so unless everyone goes for  suite accommodation this would not work for you.

 

As a party of three family veranda cabins cabins will not show as an option to you as they are technically for five guests. However, near to the time of cruising they can be released for parties of 2/3 guests so keep watching. In the meantime a hump cabin may be your best option. 

 

Tips include...

 

to try to travel light.

 

use storage cubes to organise space, small tubs for oddments.

 

have next days clothes to hand so if one of you wakes early they can ‘sneak’ out for a coffee and leave the others asleep.

 

take iPads for reading/games, then if one of you is awake when the others are asleep you don’t need a light.

 

don’t feel you need to be together all the time.

 

try to discuss in the morning the routine for the day including who is going to shower at what time.

 

take ear plugs, reduces the risk of waking each other up in the night.

 

take post it notes to leave messages on the mirror if you are doing separate things at times so you all know where each other is, times to meet etc.

We booked an FV on S Class for the three of us( inc 18yo) First time in that type of cabin but it seems to give us  seperate cabins within a cabin plus a large lounge area. Square footage the same as a Royal Suite. As an earlier poster said there are only 4 FV on S class and deck 8 have slightly larger balconies. Regarding booking dates we booked ours almost a year in advance for the three of us (5 berth cabin) for a Summer cruise which is now completely sold out

If the adults can swing a sky suite would be more comfortable.  The couch bed isn't comfortable for an adult in a regular cabin- of course kids do not care and will sleep on the floor!  But an adult might be very uncomfortable.

Not sure what a gold member is?   The person sharing your cabin will be able to attend Elite events with you but will not get any of the other perks

We have traveled three adults to a cabin on Celebrity for years and years.  Any of the veranda cabins would be a good choice.  Hump cabins have a larger balcony, which is great (although there are no more chairs than normal, and usually they won't bring you an extra but you can ask).  On S class they are all the same size so no need to book Concierge except for location.  Of course FV or a Sky Suite would be even better for the space, but they can be hard to book (FV) or prohibitively expensive (SS) IMHO.
