WakeView4Us Posted October 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2019 Are obstructed view balconies on Ovation really obstructed or just thevmore forward balconies that are somewhat enclosed? We had one of these on Anthem and found it to be perfect...wondering if there are truly obstructed balconies on Ovation. We are booked in a balcony guarantee. Thanks in advance

The obstructions are the same as Anthem but the cabins are categorized differently so that you could get a deck 7 cabin which while categorized as obstructed, really isn’t (and is not categorized as such on Anthem). Rare rimmit Posted October 7, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2019 You can see over the top of the lifeboats on the one we got, but if you are short the view isn’t awesome, but you can see the ocean. Ours is very similar to what the poster above posted.
clearlake_cruiser Posted October 7, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2019 We are in a Cat 2E obstructed view balcony right now on Ovation of the Seas, #7510. It is the forward -most balcony on Deck 7 starboard side. It is as you described as somewhat enclosed by the structure , but no lifeboat blocking the view. It has been very quiet for the most part.
Rare h20skibum Posted October 7, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2019 Some of the cabins on deck 6 have the davits, which extend higher than the lifeboats, directly in front of the balcony. Try ray to avoid cabins with those in front.
Chiliburn Posted October 7, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 7, 2019 We had a obstructed cabin deck 6 on the hump next to the junior suites. Best cabin yet ,5 times on Ovation. Hardly any obstruction, could hear the ocean, one deck to the promenade and a door into 270 so you can beat the crowds.

Just to update... We had a mysterious intermittent annoying electronic / whistle noise for the past day, and called Guest Services last night. Soon enough, someone came up to check, and then referred us to Maintenance, who also came last night to check. The noise was coming from a forward bulkhead, which has crew cabins on the other side. Maintenance was able to eliminate the noise this afternoon, so we have a quiet cabin again! 👏Yeah!
