Rare Deeliteful Posted December 3, 2019 Author #28 Share Posted December 3, 2019 Another lovely lie in! Breakfast in the buffet, never my favourite but needs must 😂 A little walk along the deck and a couple of drinks at The Sunset bar on the Waterside. Lunch In Savour was good. Roasted tomato soup and Shrimp Arrabiata both delicious. Washed down with a very nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc. According to the wine list here you can buy Veuve by the glass or the bottle with you UBP.

Never had such terrible hands, no matter how aggressive I would want to be 8 3 off and similar would never get me anywhere 🤨 Best hand all night QQ which I won with, but couldn’t get anywhere. Out by 10 pm. Plenty more poker to play though so let’s see how it goes 😂 Thanks for the good wishes. If it makes you feel any better, my biggest bust was on a cruise ship. I had AA and raised pre flop, everyone folded except one player and he called. The flop comes and it is A-5-5. I bet and he re raises All-in and I called. He had 5-5 😑

Rare Deeliteful Posted December 4, 2019 Author #32 Share Posted December 4, 2019 After a lovely afternoon enjoying the sunshine at the Waterside I had a couple of perfect margaritas at Mixx and then dinner in Taste. French Onion Soup, New York Strip steak followed by raspberry sorbet , all delicious. Sorry I forgot to take pictures. Glass of Veuve too. Went to see Burn the Floor at the Getaway Theatre. Great energy, fantastic dancing, reminded me of my legs when I was younger! Just kidding, I’m only 4’11” I think some of their legs were that long! 😂 Early night as I had an early tour in Belize the next morning, Monkey River Eco cruise. Really looking forward to it!
Rare Deeliteful Posted December 4, 2019 Author #33 Share Posted December 4, 2019 The Monkey River Tour was awesome. Sorry but all my pics are on my camera so can’t put any here unless I can work out the software! 🥴 Saw howler monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas and loads of different birds as well as wonderful jungle flowers and trees. Came back to lunch at O’Sheehans again (chicken wings with BBQ sauce this time, delicious and nachos - not so good, why use liquid cheese? Yuk) Couple of Coronas and then out to sit at the Waterside. I actually fell asleep! I never normally sleep anywhere but bed. Dining at Le Bistro tonight so will take pictures.
Rare Deeliteful Posted December 5, 2019 Author #34 Share Posted December 5, 2019 (edited) Enjoyed a couple of drinks at Mixx before my dinner at Le Bistro ( perfect margaritas again!). Unfortunately next to a very LOUD guy who wanted the world to know about his bad poker beats and how many cruises he’s comped! 🥴😱 However the food made up for it and he was gone by my main course. Started with crab salad, lovely, then Coquille St Jacques, very tasty but the smallest scallops I have ever seen! Main course, I had the rack of lamb. Very nice. Had a couple of glasses of Veuve too. Finished my meal with the cheese plate and a glass of vintage port. Although on the menu it said Roquefort there was none so I asked and got it. However all of the cheeses were straight out of the fridge which is unforgivable, especially in what is supposed to be a French restaurant. No French person would serve cold cheese especially the Brie. I have got pics but they are on my phone and currently using my iPad. You’ll see them soon! Donated to the casino before bed. Roatan tomorrow and I have booked Paradise beach AI for a chill out day. Edited December 5, 2019 by Deeliteful

Rare Deeliteful Posted December 5, 2019 Author #37 Share Posted December 5, 2019 Roatan today. Booked all inclusive at Turquoise Bay through NCL. 5* from me, I thought it was excellent, from our tour guide Julie who was amazing, to all of the servers in the resort. They were helpful, polite and charming. The beach is lovely, food and drink were great and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Lovely pool too and great vibe with live (but not loud) music. Highly recommend. Food pics are on my phone so will put them up later.

Rare Deeliteful Posted December 7, 2019 Author #43 Share Posted December 7, 2019 So last port day was Cozumel. I went to Mr Sancho’s for the 4th time. A lot of people think Nachi Cocom is better but after trying it once I was not impressed. Food, drinks and service are all top notch at Mr S and it was the same this time. Had a fabulous day. The pool has a swim up bar and the water is a great temperature, really refreshing. The coconut shrimp is awesome!
Tealing Posted December 7, 2019 #44 Share Posted December 7, 2019 Thanks for the review of Turquoise Bay. We have booked that excursion on the Dec. 13th. sailing.
Rare Deeliteful Posted December 7, 2019 Author #45 Share Posted December 7, 2019 After my day at the pool I needed to get my hair sorted! I had a wash and blow dry the day before which was excellent but despite putting my hair up it still got wet so was wavy and frizzy! They straightened it for me so felt human again 🥴 I wanted to play the poker tournament so was quite tight for time so ate in O’Sheehan’s again. Caesar salad with blackened chicken and a Reuben sandwich, both delicious. As you can see from my earlier excited post I managed to cash in this one so can go home a little richer than I came out!🤑🤑 $7k not a bad result. It was a late finish but we gained an hour so not so bad, certainly feel refreshed this morning. As it’s a sea day and our last day 😥 I will probably try and get a few pics around the ship and finish reading my book. I have a facial booked for 12.45. I know there have been some poor reviews of the Getaway but here’s my take: Staff, almost without exception have been delightful. Very gracious, always smiling, remembering my name, top marks in my opinion. Food is always subjective, it is never going to be Cordon Bleu standards when cooking for so many but apart from choosing badly at Ocean Blue, I have enjoyed my food. I’m eating at Cagney’s tonight so will let you know how that is. Amenities, you can always find something to do somewhere on the ship. As everyone says, the pool area is small and chairs are too close together and the area is incredibly crowded, all true, I don’t go there. I think this is the biggest failing of NCL ships (well Breakaway and Getaway anyway!) You can find quieter places to sit and chill and my favourite is The Waterside. If I want sun I sit out there, if I want shade I move to the other side of the ship 😎 Happy to answer any questions if I can. Some pics to follow later, xx

Rare Deeliteful Posted December 7, 2019 Author #49 Share Posted December 7, 2019 Today was the first time I received poor service at a meal. Breakfast in Savor. Last day at sea and it was very busy. My table wasn’t set properly, no glass, no cup, no cutlery, no butter or salt and pepper. Starter of melon served reasonably quickly, order of scrambled egg on toast with bacon served minus toast or cutlery. When that was brought I still had to as, for butter. Fresh orange juice took 25 minutes to arrive and was served in a plastic glass! Lunch at Margaritaville Volcano Nachos and fish tacos. The Waiter forgot to send over more people to help me eat it😱 This was my starter, I managed about one third of it!
Rare Deeliteful Posted December 9, 2019 Author #50 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Well sad to say that my second bout of poor service was dinner at Cagney’s on my last night. Despite having a reservation for 7.45 I had to stand in line and eventually taken to my table after 25 minutes. Again table not set, no cutlery, side plate, glass or salt and pepper. Started off with lobster bisque which was very good. Ordered Filet Mignon with truffle coated fries and maitre d butter. Had to wait nearly 15 minutes for the butter so steak was cold by then, it was very dry and needed something on it. Brownie and ice cream were good but I felt very frustrated that I seemed abandoned by the servers everything took so long. I complained and was told that I had to go to Guest Services to get a credit, they were unable to do it. At Guest Services, you guessed it, they said Cagney’s had to do it! The guy at GS had a real attitude problem, rolling his eyes and sighing! Eventually after several phone conversations between them I got a credit $24. He said my package was $118 and that was the right amount. Now I am no mathematician but 118/3 is $39. He said those were the rules. I asked for a manager. Now I am not bothered about $15 but it was the principle of the thing. He was another “jobs worth!” That is company policy, that is all I can do. Now I had had a great cruise and this was not a great way to end it. Did it spoil my cruise? No Did it leave me with a feeling that NCL don’t give a damn about customer service? Yes I’m afraid it did!
